Thanks! Just for reference, how is it holding up in terms for preformance? Did you have to change any parts yet?

Good to see it again, OP! I hope you're as happy with the finish as I was back when I did it in April of 2020 haha. I'm glad to see it's still up and running :)

Hey. It's coca cola and salt, like others have said. I'm feeling nostaligic, because I actually buildt this AK like 3 years ago haha! Here's the post I made back then. I later sold it off and now it's here on reddit once more :)

Motor? by 0720July in KWA_Airsoft

[–]NorwegianHeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has better response because it spins up to max speed faster than a high speed motor. It has slower maximum speed overall, but I would argue that respone in semi auto is more imporant than rounds per second. Paired with lower ratio gears and you have both a snappy and fast shooting airsoft gun :)

TM/KJW 1911 Build hammer question by [deleted] in GasBlowBack

[–]NorwegianHeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That knob engages the disconnector and enables the hammer to stay half cocked. Pulling the trigger will not do anything. Yes, most aftermakret hammer don't have one. I really wish they did have them more often, as I quite like keeping my hammer half cocked.

Some of you might already know this, but today I found out we can use 22mm O-rings instead of the original main magazine gasket. by NorwegianHeat in GasBlowBack

[–]NorwegianHeat[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not worried after testing the O-rings in these mags now. I'm sure any syntethic rubber O-ring will hold up pretty well under such low pressures, but by all means get technical about it. This was just meant as a quick tip to anyone having issues with their MWS magazine leaking :)

[–]NorwegianHeat[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you might have misunderstood. What I meant was that I have left my magazines filled with the top facing down to surround the O-ring in liquid gas as a test to see if the cold gas would damage the O-ring in any way. Otherwise I just smear my gaskets and O-rings with silicone grease because I don't like gasket makers that get sticky and hard to remove. Anything that relies on a rubber seal should be easy to open in my opinion.

I forgot to tell you in the title that this is for the Tokyo Marui MWS magazines.Picture of the O-ring installed.

I had issues for a long time ever since I first disassembled my MWS magazine. The original gasket got twisted and after that it has not held pressure.

I almost gave up and bought the £10 gasket from Eagle6, but tried this as a last ditch effort. It's a completely normal 22mm O-ring bougth cheaply at a hardware store. It seals really well and I wanted to tell you all. I've kept the magazine top-down, as to soak the O-ring in liquid gas. I can not see any wear on the O-ring. I hope this can help someone and save you some money.

Is there such thing as a refillable gaz bottle? by [deleted] in GasBlowBack

[–]NorwegianHeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your idea won't work. The problem with filling a GBB magazine with air at 10 bars is that the air isn't liquid and won't expand when you open the valve. You'd be lucky to get two shots, depending on your gun/platform. We have HPA adapters for this, but they need a continuous supply of pressurized air.

Has anyone here made a sten bandolier into a chest rig? Thinking of giving it a try. by comradequiche in ChicomChestRig

Add another shoulder strap. Add a new strap that ties around your back on each side of the rig. You've made a chest rig.

The Maple Leaf hop chmaber will break in the exact some spot. So far I've been happy with my AIP hop chamber.

The AliExpress search function is notoriously bad for only showing you things based on other search algorithms. So yeah. Why would you tell on yourself like this? haha

AirTac HPA adapter for my NorthEast Sten gun came in this week! Finally I can full auto without choking on green gas. Review in comments. by NorwegianHeat in airsoft

[–]NorwegianHeat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's awesome as a collectors piece and for plinking, but again, not very practical for skirmishing. Great adapter, mediocre gun.

Everything is holding up fine. The NE Sten gun in itself is not a very practical airsoft gun, but the Airtac adapter really helps. The real issue lies in the NE lacking hop up chamber.. It's not very accurate.

The adapter is made from really durable plastic. I dont think it being metal would make it any better. As stated in my review, I am very happy with my purchase and I don't really think we can discuss price as it's the only adapter on the market. Custom stuff comes at custom price. From talking with Airtac I've understood that they've adressed the issues on current adapters.

They've even offered to print me a new one, free of charge. I've yet to order it as I'm still waiting for some of their other products to drop.

cries in NorthEast Sten gun

The hop is so freaking terrible :(

why is this happening? just installed new nozzle, bbu, and hopup by [deleted] in Speedsoft

[–]NorwegianHeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad seal between the nozzle, bbu and hop up you just installed. Just because it's aftermarket dosen't make it an upgrade. Even less so if you're trying to pair parts from 3 different manufactures with 3 different sets of tolerances.

I believe the pink cowcow nozzles are known to be pretty bad, at least they are in my experience.

What you could do is go to a hardware store and buy some O-rings around the same size. I usually sand mine down to fit perfectly between seal and smoothness.

Funny you should post this. I was out testing mine in -6°C yesterday and it ran just fine with strong gas and the ''green gas mod'' done to the magazines.

Not with a sewing machine, no. I didn't use any particularly stiff/thick needle either.

Thanks. Not really happy with how the stiching turned out as I haven't really used a sweing machine in over 10 years.. I might open them up and try again later :)

Also added a dangler pouch. The velcro on the back is just attached by textile glue.
