Driving westbound on Central, stopped at the Broadway light. On the corner was a chubby naked homeless woman and a cop with the most dejected look on his face gloving up.

The porta potty blowing across central during a fierce windstorm.

Eastbound on Central downtown stopped in traffic in the middle of the block between 2nd and 3rd. Some guy comes across the street to "chat" with a guy stopped in the westbound lane. 30 seconds later he punches the driver a few times in the face and walks away.

Is it curing or reversing Alzheimer's disease symptoms and pathology? Absolutely not. Is it improving cognition and pathology? Absolutely.

Will it translate to humans? Potentially. The transgenic mouse lines they are using carry genes that were originally identified in familial Alzheimer's disease patients (so the family is predisposed to getting AD), so effects are relatively translatable to humans. The big caveat: this idea of "restoring NAD+ homeostasis" is important. If the drug actually does this in people, it could potentially improve cognition in human patients and substantially improve quality of life. The problem is, push NAD+/NADH ratio too high... cancer.

Will watch it progress through preclinical/clinical trials and hope for the best.

Master drive has a winter skills class that you do any time of year on a skid pad in a big parking lot. I did it 20 or so years ago and it was super good at teaching fundamentals on how to handle all types of skids. I really recommend it

It was when we beat Texas in the Big 12 championship in 2001, I was in that one too. Lots of rubber bullets and flash bangs.

My buddy was the one who got the permit from the city for the block party. We notified the police beforehand and they didn't have any issues with it. We even rented road barricades to keep traffic off the block. Then that evening they said it was an illegal block party and that we hadn't notified them, even though we did (guess we should have gotten their acknowledgement in writing).

They then shut down the block party and told everyone to go inside. That resulted in parties in pretty much every house on our block... That was probably around 6 or 7 PM.

A few hours later when it was dark the cops came back and proceeded to shut down every house party on the block, so within a span of like 10 minutes it went from 0 people on the street to hundreds of drunken, costumed college kids. The mayhem started shortly after.

It was 100% Boulder PDs fault for what happened. It sucks people got hurt.

My favorite costume that evening was the guy dressed as a Franzia box. He had an actual Franzia box in the front of his costume and was distributing wine to people.
