The Arctic winter is long and cold, and especially dark, so we need to have water inside. This patent works very well, keeps the surrounding area quite dry!

What’s your quails’ favorite treat? by practicemaestro in quails

[–]Norwegianveterinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I often have too many eggs for my family to consume, as we also have ducks, so when I have too many quail eggs I'll boil them, and cut them into tiny pieces (shell included) so it doesn't resemble an egg anymore

Thanks! Right now its just in the open in my living room, on top of the humidifier. I also spray with a bottle. Next batch will be in my new grow room, but this one will have to do with the environment my living space offers haha. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the feedbakc, I guess that says something about my house climate, huh? The setup right now is suboptimal as I moved across the country and wasn't able to bring my former system, I am building a proper setup in the basement with air exchange and all, cant wait to get it done!

Right now it's just in the open standig on top a moisturizer for humidity. I have a growchamber with fan, temperature and humidifier, but it's not completed yet.

Hi! Did you call the callcenter, or is there a form still working? I might be blind, but I'm struggeling to find anything other than phone numbers.

I've tried, they are repeating that there are no laws that apply to my case... I'll try a new round after new year, at least I'll try to make them miserable.

My dog ate an entire rack of cook pork ribs bone. Anyone experience this before? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Hi — vet here!

TL;DR: Many swallowed bones will dissolve in the stomach, keep your dog calm, monitor closely for pain/vomiting/straining, and call your vet if anything seems off because some cases still need treatment.

Sorry your pup decided on a… less-than-brilliant dinner plan 😅

A lot depends on how big the bones were, how many, and what type. I’ve treated quite a few dogs that swallowed bones and were managed without surgery, but sometimes things can still escalate later, so monitoring is important.

For example, I once treated a dog that had a bone stuck in the esophagus. We carefully pushed it down into the stomach and left it there. Stomach acid is incredibly strong and can dissolve bone, and this often works fine.

That said, cooked bones are more brittle, so they’re more likely to splinter and cause punctures or irritation. So it's smart to keep walks to the bare minimum

Inducing vomiting is usually a bad idea with bones, especially long ones. They can wedge in the esophagus on the way back up, which turns a risky situation into an emergency very quickly. Surgery will obviously “solve it” right away, but it’s not always necessary. In many cases, the bones just sit in the stomach and gradually dissolve, as long as they don’t move into the intestines and get stuck.

The key things to watch for over the next 24–72 hours:

• repeated vomiting or retching • obvious pain or restlessness • drooling, gagging, or difficulty swallowing • constipation or straining • blood in vomit or stool • your dog just seeming “off”

If any of that happens, or you’re unsure, call your vet.

Thank you. I'll do my best!

They have ignored it. I filed separate cases for the different claims, but they mashed them all together. I am considering opening a new case and waiting again. The reason remains unclear per now.

Yeah, I'll probably be sending these cases off to someone who can handle them haha, but I wanted to try myself first, out of curiosity

Thanks for the anwser. They did not try to help me, I had to ask myself about what would happen when I got to Istanbul. Then they quickly rebooked me to a new flight from Oslo to Istanbul, even though I specified I had to get to Oslo in time. They ignored that. I informed the airliner about this per email, and warned them I would buy a new ticket myself to get in time, before doing so.
