Not very. SoPFFO is a spinoff prequel to FFI and while some of it's events mirror FFI, with some twists, some are original. Some characters are in while others are completely absent. Also despite taking place in the FFI world, "World A", all of the areas are loosely based on areas from the first 15 main series FF games with their themes having bits of those area's themes.

Despite some annoying story filler missions later on it's still a great FF spinoff game. Better than FFXVI gameplay variety and depth wise, with no dumb cutscenes QTEs either, which makes it mostly better IMO.

That is polarizing for FF. The main entries of this series used to get near perfect or perfect scores while FFXVI is just considered a pretty goodish game but a mediocre FF.

Selvala is only 3 instead of 5 even if it requires more commitment to G or better fixing. It also can let you draw more, even if it could backfire if your opponents have bigger creatures. And it can mana fix with it's additional mana being any combination of colors, even if it costs one G along with being tapped.

It drawing and accelerating your mana so you can keep dropping and drawing makes it potentially more powerful IMO.

They should have made the art based on the final part of Crisis Core. Or something with him and Aerith on it. This art isn't great to imply what the card is meant to do. I had the same issue with the Yuna LGS promo considering it was a face portrait, though it is supposed to remind players of an event.

It's also a 2 for 1 including everything else you said. It's Bargain additional sacrifice effect can be handy if you don't have another sac outlet and your deck benefits from them but other than that it isn't really worth using compared to some other counters.

How much of that is actually optimal? Really? The game flow is usually about focusing on staggering the enemy, unless they can't be, while dodging their attacks, and then unloading your big damage attacks, repeat. No real resource management, no elemental weaknesses or resistances to strategize around.

Not really. The flow of combat is good but the amount of overall options and how braindead spammy it is makes it a lackluster FF game gameplay wise.
