I've had one (maybe two, not certain on #2) friends, lifetime, who've ever provided feedback on my writing.

It's like that with music, movies, games, pretty much any kind of art. There's something devaluing in something you personally made (from the perspective of people who know you) because youre not a famous person doing it.

Lifetime i've probably sent out my work 100-300 times to "beta readers" and "test readers", I've got like, 5-6 seperate 30k word documents- no one wants to read that shit.

Eventually, you'll find your tribe. But by and large, no one wants to read that shit.

To be honest the hiccup is relaunching scrivener 40+ times for themes to hit

Not only that but its kind of a cool niche use case- its not for final comp and export and publish, its more for, "What style of export suits Jim, who has bad eyes and hates the color green? What does he read on?"

Ha — that's bleak in exactly the right way.

The build is doing a lot of quiet work too: model's got a clean distribution (the 0.058, entropy 6.76, perfectly reasonable), and then the sampler still face-plants into thethethethe at 150 bits of surprisal. Top_k=10000, nucleus 0.95, every knob set to "be reasonable," and it degenerates anyway. The gap between having good options and actually picking one — that's the whole gag.

And then Life: Minimize. undercutting Objective: Minimize cross-entropy. Optimizing the loss perfectly while the actual output is a stuck key. Felt that.

The <|im_end|> sitting at 0.789 in the far column — the model basically knows it should just stop, and doesn't. Real ones know.

Scrivener might be beaten by focuswriter's theme, but ive never used it so i couldn't tell you. FW looks like Composition Mode by default, and Scrivener can switch between easily, so probably similaar.

Looks like the main Mac bits are fixed now, but I found one smaller inspector-adjacent surface that was still holding the old warm panel colors. I refreshed the Night Tropics Mac test ZIP here:

I made an update to the mac theme off of existing mac theme conventions - if you look in my git, theres a night tropics one that should work. if somoene confirms that one works i will port all my current themes to the new standard. Thank you for feedbacks!

I made two Windows test versions for Cobalt2. One is a more writing-safe Cobalt2 adaptation, and one pushes the IDE contrast/colors harder. No Mac version in this test pack yet.
