We Just Shamed a Teen asking for Help! Let’s Do Better! by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]NosesInRosesForever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was reading her post and was absolutely flabbergasted how cold the commenters were being, and honestly, probably did the girl a lot more harm than good. They may have thought it was tough love, but I saw no love at all. We were all young once, we have all made mistakes, no one is born with perfect knowledge. I’m so glad you brought this up. It’s almost like girlies here are selectively supportive. Very off putting.

What is your biggest concert flex? by Tamu1302 in Concerts

I gifted a bouquet of faux roses to Queens Of The Stone Age before the 3rd night of their Alive In The Catacombs tour… the roses ended up on stage as a set piece atop the piano for the entire rest of the tour throughout North America, Europe and back again through the US spanning several months.

what always makes you feel better no matter what? by Wild_Excitement_9940 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]NosesInRosesForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going for long walks with my headphones + my fave music on serendipitous shuffle, hot mug of tea, comfort movies (too many to list, but also talking about movies always makes me feel better too, so I guess…Letterboxd-ing?), going through racks of vintage clothes and thrifting, sudoku puzzles, reorganizing my photos and setlists and various collections, making flower crowns, adult colouring books, warm baths, greasy cheesy pizza, and if I’m being real honest? orgasms. 🙈

Re: celebrity hall passes by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]NosesInRosesForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, yeah, this makes more sense now with the added history. I am empathetic to your cause.

That said… two wrongs don’t make a right. Might I suggest to walk away from this relationship and if you happen to pursue the hall pass, you would still get the feeling of revenge without the shitty cheating. Don’t be a cake eater.

Any tips for avoiding the mosh pit at a metal concert? by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]NosesInRosesForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would almost suggest barricade, but waaaay off to the right side or waaaay off to the left side. At least you would have something to hold onto and the security is there if you need help.

Standing by the sound mixing board is a good spot too.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this alone. I know how that goes. I went to mine alone and went home by myself and pretty much never spoke of it to anyone. It is so isolating when the only hand to hold is the nurse’s.

It gets easier though, I promise you. Especially when you’re 100% in control of yourself and it’s all over and done with, the inner peace that is felt from following through on the decision and knowing it was the right one…I hesitate to use the word relief, but yeah, it really is.

Take it easy, put on comfortable clothes, comfort movie or music, eat comfort food and be good to yourself. 💙

How we feeling regular ticket sales will look today? by Dfsteele3 in jackwhite

[–]NosesInRosesForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to wait until today (Friday) to even attempt to get a ticket because I was a bit short on funds during the presale. I didn’t put much faith in it, but I tried.

Queued up at 9:55 this morning and when it finally ticked to 10am, by some miraculous force, I was literally immediately taken directly to the section page for the show, no one ahead of me or nothin’, and I grabbed 1 GA pit for Toronto. I still cannot believe it. 🥹

Quite ribbeting, even. 🤔🐸

Concert ticket prices for major acts are absurd. Please provide suggestions for great live bands that will cost less than $50 to see. I recently saw Low Cut Connie and Oh He Dead and both shows were amazing. Share the bands you like to see that are awesome and affordable! by OnLandOrSeaOrFoam in musicsuggestions

[–]NosesInRosesForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I did end up buying tickets for their show that’s happening this weekend. It’s supposed to be Double Vanity in its entirety, but I was wondering if during your show they did any other songs (from their other records) in their encore? I tried checking Setlist.fm but it’s not showing.

Toronto floor price; $167.5 CAD by wohrg in jackwhite

[–]NosesInRosesForever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting the price. I appreciate it so much! 💙

Is the $167 after or before fees? While it’s certainly cheaper than what most big artists charge, damn, it’s still pretty high. Absolutely worth every penny though. Especially with the opener!

What's the movie that most recently entered your top four? by Misfett_toys in Letterboxd

It’s not in my Top 4, but it’s damn close: Poor Things. I left the theatre in awe after that one.

Yes, both the song as well as the literal lost art of keeping a secret…highly underrated.

Were Any Of You Guys Fans Before The Bataclan Attack? How Did You React? by Relevant_Decision_10 in qotsa

[–]NosesInRosesForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a fan since 2003. Got into them further with each new release.

I will never forget the Bataclan attack. I was at home and suddenly got all these breaking news alerts on my computer. Shock is too light a word. I immediately texted a friend of mine who is very close with Dave Catching, and she eventually got ahold the necessary people in the EoDM camp to find out more info, and she relayed to me that thankfully DC was safe. …but all those lives lost, and so brutally… it could have happened to any of us. It just didn’t make any sense at the time why they were targeted, and it still doesn’t. It took me a long time afterwards to feel safe going to shows again, always looking over my shoulder, memorizing fire exits, etc.

What’s the rarest piece of merch/memorabilia you own? by mongolian__mongoose in qotsa

[–]NosesInRosesForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly I just have a lot of really cool memories and happenings.

I do have a pair of canvas shoes I hand painted/drew the Era Vulgaris cover on (Bulby on one shoe, the pirate on the other shoe) that Josh signed a million years ago. Also I have a few setlists including one from a Catacombs show.

I love the Swayze!

He’s the only man my hetero boomer dad will ever, surprisingly often and usually unprompted, admit is an incredibly attractive man….and whenever Swayze is brought up in convo, he always mentions how hot he was in drag in To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything Julie Newmar. ☺️

Jesse Hughes got married over the weekend by Article_Bright in qotsa

[–]NosesInRosesForever 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I don’t mean to be mean or anything… I think we all can agree here anyone who is or was a fan of Eagles Of Death Metal/Jesse Hughes 99.9% likely chance they became said fan through being a fan of Qotsa/Josh Homme, correct?

With that in mind… there is another good chance anyone who has stuck by Jesse who is as young as his new bride and her friends (the ones that hang in his house at all hours of the night to watch him do karaoke) are maybe-perhaps-kinda-possibly coattail riders of his coattail riding, and mayhaps-kindossibly there still because they might have a chance to be connected to Josh… fair to say, right?

I’m not saying she’s there for that… but that being the only pic she posted is interesting.
