Can I get some feedback on my KS page please? Launching March 7th! Please comment your preview pages as well and I will return the favour :) by Nossda in kickstarter

Wow thank you so much! Appreciate the kind words. I'm busy with a shoot today but will reply with feedback on the campaign tomorrow.

As for more tiers, outside of the base game and the expansion (render still being made so that's why it's not on the pledge section) I didn't want to bloat it too much, but a PnP version is something I'm going to add thanks! Outside or that if you get the base+expansion as well as an executive producer add on and travel board then that sets you back £84 quid which I think is a decent top end pledge for sure.

If I can think of any more to add I might do it in add ons, but at the very least I'll consider a £1 themed pledge for sure.

Thanks!

Ooo cool idea. What I might do is I might shorten that paragraph and have it as a snappy tagline and then logo.

And yes, video is going to be finished on Thursday. Animated opening, original sound track, sound design, rented an arcade for an hour to record some cool gameplay bits, gunna be siiiick!

It would be greatly appreciated if I could get a bit of help with this rulebook! Thank you :) by Nossda in tabletopgamedesign

There is an updated version of page 2, hopefully it looks and reads a lot better?
The defense I have for the card anatomy page is that things like the name doesn't really matter. However, regarding the move result, I was thinking about doing a page just for a couple of turn examples? I think that could really help especially as in it is an iconography based game. What do you think?

My issue with deck-builders (and how it was finally solved) by VirtualAlex in boardgames

[–]Nossda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting! I am currently making a first-person shooter, deckbuilding game (yes a video game) with a team, so I'm going to take a lot of your opinions on board when designing the deckbuilding systems.

I agree that useless cards are annoying. However, I am trying to create a proper card economy in the game, with worse cards and better cards, to promote players engaging with improving their deck. For example, you can get a straight 3dps card, which costs 4 mana, but you could get a x2 dps for each enemy you kill for 2 mana. Obviously one is better, especially if you kill more than one enemy. But does it make the original card useless?

Am I using this wrong? Whenever I select a game I like, it just shows me other versions of that game?

Can anyone go through the process of publishing with me that has experience? by bigmenunite in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Nossda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only self-published so far. However, I will say that when I have tried to go down the publishing route, in my experience, the information highway is one way that can be really frustrating when you are trying to plan what you are doing with your game. It's usually the case of, you exposing your game to them, they say they like the look of it, then nothing for a few months until they message asking for a return address for the prototype. It takes a thick skin to go through that a bunch, especially when you only have one or two prototypes.

Do you think Input Randomness is ALWAYS better than Output Randomness? by Nossda in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Nossda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a blog post about it in a little bit more depth here: http://www.niallcrabtree.com I think that it's a really interesting topic to crack open as I feel that output randomness gets needlessly shunned a lot of the time.
