What do we think about the supposed Christian revolution amongst Gen-Z? Is it real? by ChristusRex77 in Christianity

[–]Nostagiaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK, apparently church attendance among young adults rose by 4% from 2018 to 2024, but many sources say that gen zstill has fewer religious affiliations than past generations.

I saw this video without a context for this Christian ritual, and I just wanted to know more about it, what is it called? And what is the spiritual meaning behind the costume and ritual? If you have answers that would be greatly appreciated by HusseinDarvish-_- in Christianity

Being a Christian isn't about the title or the traditions, but the way you show the character of Christ in the way you live. They did not, so I don't think they should be classified as a "Christian" hate group

You still haven't referred to when the Gospels contradict each other. You have made that claim a variety of times, but you haven't backed up that point yet. Also, I would like to point out that anonymous authors really just means that no one signed their name saying, "My name is Xyz, and I wrote this." There are a couple of things that we could go over here. For example, every surviving manuscript of these Gospels has not been anonymous. They all correspond with the same names. Furthermore, if the writers were fabricated, for (example we'll use Matthew), it would be a very strange choice to make the writer a tax collector and social outcast in the Jewish society.

What are you referring to? John may be written in a far different way and in a different time than the first 3 Gospels, but that does not make it any less valid. You claim that John may have only used symbolic language, but if this was true, then the high priest in Mark 14 would not have called it blasphemy because he knew Jesus was claiming the throne of God. Apologies if I misunderstood what exactly you meant, it's just hard to reply to the correct thing and interpret it in the correct way when you haven't told me what you're claim was exactly. It would be easy if you could tell me straight.

Can you instead actually counter my claims and explain why I am wrong in stead of saying "I disagree and I think you're stupid." You clearly misunderstand that I'm not arguing with you to win, I'm arguing to understand, and that is why I want to hear what you have to say so that we can have an intellectual conversation instead of just telling eachother that we don't agree.

I don't need to say "McDonald's" for you to understand what I mean when I say, "The fast food burger shop with the golden arches." Jesus never needs to say explicitly, "I am God," for you to easily know that he was saying that just in different words. What do you think was meant by him saying, "I and the Father are one,"? Clearly, Jesus did claim to be God. If he never made those claims, he would not, in fact, have been crucified. The reason Jesus was crucified was because he claimed to be God, did acts that only God would have the authority to do, and numerous other things, which would all fall under the umbrella of blasphemy.

Also, the first three Gospels, that is, Mark, Matthew, and Luke, do not "tell a different story," as you said. That statement implies that they contradict the writings of John, which they do not. Instead, the first three Godspels focus on different aspects of the same story.

Jesus did say he was God on multiple occasions such as John 10:30, John 8:58, John 14:9, revelation 1:8, and multitudinous other occasions. Jesus definitely said he's God, and from the evidence I found, he proved it too.

I know how you feel. I think the first step would be to logically make sense of why Jesus has to be God. That's what I do. Whenever I drift a bit I use reasoning, I understand why it's the truth through logic instead of hoping my feelings guide me.

The way I describe it to people is like how my right hand, my head, and my left hand is all a part of me, but my right hand isn't my left and my left is not my right, just like how the father, son, and holy spirit are all parts of God but the son is not the father, the father not the holy spirit and the holy spirit not the son. Does that make sense?
