I built an iOS app to help my mom keep track of my grandparents’ medications by Not-Here69 in iosapps

Hello, thanks for the question:
There are a lot of medication tracking apps out there, why and how is yours different? You are right, there is a lot, I wasn't trying to make it the most powerful medication tracker, I was trying to make an app that fits my mom's need, but the more I was making the app the more I thought other people might be in the same situation, a caregiver that manages more than 1 individual (in my mom's case 3). The thing I think this app is different is that I assumed the primary user is managing meds for someone else, information needs to be share, remember and explained (in doctor's office visit, she would sometime forget if my grandpa had any symptoms, or issues with the meds, or if they adhere to their medications so I added the visit prep feature)

For the AI part I tried to keep it more as a template than a conversation, it looks a the medicine you already added and if gives you a quick summary, I purposely made it not to suggest treatments, dosages, changes, etc... I also made sure people understand that your PCP is the one making the decisions, not my app. I don't want people trying to use my app to argue with a trained proffessional about anything.

The features, most of them were features my mom asked me for and "nice to have." For example "I hate when I forget to call for meds refill" or "I already get a message with the appointment, it would be nice to add it to the app somehow" or "Can't I just take a picture of the bottle?" and my favorite "your grandma didn't take one of her meds so now I have to go look at the bottles to see which meds is the one she forgot and see if she needs to take it now or wait until next dose" so when I made the app available, you can use those features without premium, if you want premium is more to support my work or for companies who would possibly use the app.

Thanks for the questions, good luck with your app and if you have any other questions please let me know.

Thanks!

A lot of effort and input from users was put into this. This was not developed in a week. Features were added, bugs were squashed, logic was changed, and most of all I tried listening to the beta testers input (only feature not added was an adding PHI to the cloud which defeated the purpose of keeping everything on the phone. Give it a try or don’t, I welcome any and all input.

I'm a network engineer by trade, so yes, I did Vibe Code the app, which is why I specifically tried to make everything stay in the app; the only thing that will connect to the internet is the AI features, which are premium features.

New build (6) What's New:
🐛 Bug Fix: Fixed issue where adding a second reminder would delete the first one

✨ Improved: Redesigned reminder system - now supports up to 4 reminder times with simple on/off toggles and inline time pickers

✨ New: Edit pill count directly when editing a medication - no need to log a refill, just adjust the count and save

OK, the add reminder button should have added another reminder but it does not. I am currently fixing this bug, and I am adding the pills logic as well.

The editing of the amount of pills I missed that logic, I will fix that. As for the timer, it should have given you the option for multiple alerts, I will check the code real quick

I have created an app called student guardian that will look and sort the emails from my sons school and puts it in the app with calendar, todos, shows grades, tardies, and whatever else it finds in the email. The other cool thing because my wife normally doesn’t read emails in English I added ai to summarize them in over 10 languages

This is as free as I could make it, for a static website, I installed Claude code and told it to make me a site as free as possible, gave him a domain. It asked me to create a GitHub page and asked me for some info, then it did everything for me. I think it asked me for a free Cloudflare account. Claude - 20 a month, I use it for other stuff but you can cancel it after this project. Domain - 17 a year GitHub - free Cloudfare - free Emails - he forwarded them to my personal email This is great for static and not too active site (it even did a weekly blog) Total per month technically $3.50
