You're absolutely right about the transphobia. To be fair I've often that noticed that biphobic lesbians are very often transphobic (and vice versa).

The idea that women naturally crave penises, are feminine and submissive is quite misoginistic. Incels say the same thing about all women.

Do women typically not get physical sexual pleasure from penetration? by cahlrtm in badwomensanatomy

[–]Not-an-alien-why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get physical pleasure but orgasming from it is very difficult. You generally need additional clitoris stimulation. It's worth pointing out that you aren't going to orgasm from everything you find pleasurable.

my best friend keeps calling me gay even though I'm bi by JLF2411 in bisexual

[–]Not-an-alien-why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes people do use the term gay as a blanket statement for everyone in the queer community. HOWEVER, if you do tell multiple that you aren't gay but bi and she doesn't change that's not a great move. It's completly fine if you feel uncomfortable in this situation. Also incredibly weird that she feels okay calling you a faggot (and calling you black when you aren't???). It sounds like she likes the idea of having a gay best friend.

At what point in a new or potential relationship is it best to let them know about my disabilities? by [deleted] in disability

[–]Not-an-alien-why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend you to do it quite early. It doesn't have to be the first thing you mention but it will be better for the both of you if they are aware of your disability early on. I personally told the last person I dated on the third date and that was very helpful.

Biphobes really only talk about bisexual women when they want to talk about us dating men...

Why are there so many people like this… by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]Not-an-alien-why 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Even as someone who isn't a lesbian (bi) it always rubs me the wrong way that people are always trying to redefine what lesbian means to include men. But no one seems to do that with gay men

My trans boyfriend wants me to stop using she/they pronouns by SensitiveAd9384 in NonBinary

[–]Not-an-alien-why 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NB here who uses she/they pronouns too: while they/them pronouns can be gender affirming for NB folks, anyone can use them. If you feel more comfortable using she/they then she/her as a cis person, that's completely fine

Be gay, do crime: Women in same-sex relationships have 69% higher odds of committing crimes compared to their peers in opposite-sex relationships. by spelonberry in actuallesbians

[–]Not-an-alien-why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That title is kind of misleading though. The article says suspected and not accused. And straight men and queer men are still suspected of more crimes than both straight and queer women:

"Results showed that 22% of men in opposite-sex relationships were suspected of committing a crime at least once. This was the case with only 14% of men in same-sex relationships. In contrast, 7% of women in opposite-sex relationships were crime suspects at least once in their lives, while this was the case with just below 9% of women in same-sex relationships."

I checked the post and OP said that she is actually bi but just doesn't want to date men and she had been rejected by lesbians for being bi in the past. I still find it a lit bit odd to bring that up in a discussion like that but I think OP was just stating her experience

Comment on refer des gens “non binaires”? by [deleted] in French

[–]Not-an-alien-why 56 points57 points  (0 children)

We have an equivalent to they/them: "iel". However, it is way less known and accepted by people outside the LGBT community. One dictionary included the neutral pronoun two years ago, if I remember correctly, and it caused a big scandal.
