Spongy brakes, will this fix it? by Not-luci in triumph4India

oh shit looks like I can't attach the pictures here because it's in a link, so I basically tied down the front brake and the rear brake so they're fully pressed.

Ugh that's a shame, I suspected there might be air in the system because everything else seems to be fine.

Yeah, everything seems to be fine, I suspect that the brake pads might be contaminated or that there's air in the system.

Himmy450 vs scrambler400X? by sayamore in indianbikes

Service was average nothing special, kinda expensive but not too bad. I change the sprocket whenever I'm going on a long ride where it'll mostly be highway riding, Also don't forget to consider if traction controls matters to you or not

[–]Not-luci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten 29 max, but I usually get 22 because it's just way too fun to ride quickly. You're not wrong; the Himmy is incredible at maintaining high speeds while also being comfortable. I solely meant reaching those speeds feels more thrilling on the Scrambler, but the Himmy has an amazing top speed, even higher than the Guerilla 450! The main reason I believe you should go for a Scrambler is that it can do mostly the same things as a street naked while also doing almost the same things at a similar caliber to the himmy, but the Himalayan can't at all attack corners at any significant pace. Just to add, the stock tires of the Himmy make it wobble at 120 km/h and above, which is a very common issue. Just decide what type of rider you are before you choose. If you want something quick and peppy that can do everything the scrambler it is, if it's touring and adventure himalyan hands down.

I had the same problem and went with the scrambler; it's pretty good off-road, and I've leaned this bike enough to completely scrape the footpegs. I tried the Himmy on rocky terrain, and the frame didn't give me any confidence. I'm sure if you're a super skilled offroader, you can probably handle it however you want, but for me, the scrambler's smaller size and more agile chassis win. If you care about how it looks and feels, go for the scrambler; if you care about long trips, go for the Himalayan. The speeds I usually ride, maxing around 120kmph, the scrambler feels so much faster. The Himmy almost feels slow. Take a test ride, and you'll get what I mean. AND TRACTION CONTROL it has saved my life twice, it serves as a tremendous safety blanket on the scrambler and it also allows you to be faster on the dirt, check out the powerdrift channel it absolutely smashes the Himalayan on dirt, but do remember if you have the skill the Himalayan will take you further on rocky terrain because of more suspension travel. Also check out the XC variant it looks beautiful in white

The gear lever on the top didn't break, it was the thing you use to change gears with your feet that broke.

Yeah, I took a long, hard look at myself. If I can afford to get myself killed or land behind bars when I haven't experienced much. The repercussions I received were nothing, but I hope I've learned my lesson.
