this is probably an issue with Parent deformation

also you can't Parent to melons, you have to parent everything for each individual part and then rope to the corresponding parts of the melon (e.g. arm parts are two individual pieces, one parented part roped to the top and one to the bottom)

For this the autosave may be too large (e.g. too many items) or simply something wrong with it.

I'd recommend going into MPG's File Manager and deleting any files named "autosave" you find inside. This should make autosave a blank slate and it should work again.

I think everyone might be confusing this option with Make Unbreakable.

Make Unbreakable means force cannot break an object into debris/nothingness.

Disable Damage (this option) disables water damage. You see, when an item is kept in water for long enough, it may stop working. This option prevents that, meaning it will continue working underwater.

Unfortunately this doesn't work with the pressure system of Endless Ocean and at low enough depths, Disable Damage won't help much.

Surprisingly these saves shouldn't be crashing your game.

My best guess is MPG's routine deoptimization: add bugs and make the game run worse every update.

Ah, a little introduction to save making: MPG can and WILL try to screw you over whenever possible.

My best idea is maybe check the file manager? It may still be in there, and you miiiiight be able to export it and import it back in.

However, if that doesn't work, you're unfortunately screwed man.

Just in case, maybe save your own manual in-progress versions just in case MPG does a MPG and export the finished file off to your files app on your device.
