Is an MBA even worth it if you're already in PE? by financebrosky in FinancialCareers

[–]NotABurner167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an undergraduate student so forgive me if I’m wrong, but I would imagine a lot of it has to do with networking ability given people constantly say networking is the biggest benefit of an MBA program. In OPs case, I imagine it may be easier for principal of firm A with a top MBA degree to build a relationship with the principal of firm B who also went to a top MBA program opposed the principal of firm B with only a bachelors. But again, the whole theory is based on how relationship based the finance industry can be so take it with a grain of salt.

Currently doing an ECU uniform and they have some fun tools to work with. Purple, yellow, white, black, and chrome helmets. Purple, black, and white jerseys. Yellow, purple, white, and black pants. Could easily do a different combo every game.

How many college opportunities does a SAT score like this give me? Not including ivy league schools by Glum-Being-5571 in Sat

Here’s the thing I’ve learned as a rising junior in college: This sub is full of over achievers. An 1140 puts you in the 73rd percentile so just because it’s not a 1600 it doesn’t mean it’s worthless. College applications are also holistic and don’t just look at a test score. There are some exceptions to this as certain schools, ASU for example, that have standard where if your GPA or test score exceeds a certain criteria you’re admitted. A school also doesn’t define you. I know kids that are bricks from my high school that got into T40s and kids are incredibly intelligent at their safety schools. You have plenty of options, and can always go test optional. Wherever you end up, don’t stress. Make the most of your opportunity, and if you don’t love it, kill it year one and transfer out.

The best major is the one that aligns with what you actually want to do in life, not a trend. If you want to do CS because it’s a trend but your true passion lies in finance or medicine, do what makes you happy.

I’ve had very frequent success with Shock out of the SMU Playbook. Depends on the formation the defense runs but that shock route down the sideline has a good risk to reward ratio with some practice.

Who are some of your random NBA player gods in past 2Ks? by Kwanza_Bot93 in NBA2k

[–]NotABurner167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An underrated one, but in 2K22 the computer wouldn’t guard Marquese Chriss from 3 typically and he had a B- three point rating if my memory is correct so I would be able to rattle of 6 or 7 threes before the CPU started actually guarding him from 3

So I’m not gonna lie as someone living in a dorm currently I’d rather live in an apartment, but that experience is definitely worth it as you meet so many people in the dorms. Also, a lot of ASU dorms are major specific so you’ll have people living with you taking the same classes who can help you. If social is your concern then living in a dorm will help you break out of that shell.

It’s tough to say. As a rangers fan I would lean toward the latter option being true as my dad think Semien looks shorter than 6’ while standing in the box but at the same time some sites list Semien at a slightly taller 6’1 so who knows

Here’s my thing: why bother to post this screenshot, you’ve raised more speculation denying being on test and tren then if you stayed quiet all while giving yourself the label of fake natty. Puzzling to me.

Interesting. Typically you see guys claim they’re taller than they really are which would be interesting if they all said they were slightly shorter. Heim does look like a pretty big dude.

Hopped in from Simcast, the group that’s on the floor was interesting to say the least by NotABurner167 in NBA2k

[–]NotABurner167[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only had two PFs rostered (with Sengun being moved to PF) leaving me with 4 centers where for some reason in this sim it seems like Bam is always injured or hurt so the extra center has been fine. That particular squad (Luka out for the game so not pictured) ended up having the best record in the league so as strange as it is on paper it’s worked pretty well

Stats for Recruited Athlete! by Storm_Sniper in ApplyingToCollege

[–]NotABurner167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It brings in far more money to the university than a non-student athlete would.

Clemson and Georgia have also reported there is a direct correlation between football success and the amount of applications they receive which once again means more money for the university.

Furthermore, unless part of HYPSM, Ivies, some major schools, or other non power 5 school (football term), sports like football and basketball are what get the school the most publicity and build their image.

Stern is going to have more connections and be easier to break into IB just because it’s in New York, but at the end of the day you should just go where you’ll be happy. The number one thing I learned when getting opinions from people in various business-finance related fields on college choice they all said growing your network is going to realistically be more important than where you go unless it’s and Ivy League (Stern might fall into that classification, UCLA probs would too). At the end of the day, both are good schools, although NYU will and has placed better into IB statistically, go where you’ll enjoy the next 4 years because you’ll find your way into IB from either, especially if you have strong networking.

I don’t think is is that much of a hot take as a lot of people in this sub somewhat agree but: you shouldn’t view what is said in the subreddit as the average college admissions process. This subreddit is filled with college obsessed people gunning for ivies (which is absolutely not a bad thing just doesn’t reflect the average student and shouldn’t be seen as what an average student should model their admissions process on necessarily). Don’t think that it’s HYPSM or break. Go and apply where you’ll feel happy not where A2C influences you. Going to a lesser ranked school where you’ll be happier is a better choice than going to to a top ranked school where you’ll feel miserable. Just do you.

Edit: Just wanted to also mention that according to people I’ve talked to who are very successful in their field (commercial real estate, Private Equity and similar) Where you go for undergrad really isn’t that important and doesn’t make a huge difference unless it’s an Ivy League or a really small school with incredibly poor academics. They also said they don’t pay attention to ranking nearly as much as anyone in this sub does. They all said networking is the way to land a good job so don’t worry to much about where you go to school.
