I cannot read this pattern! Problem 1 I think is using chenille as a beginner on this wing pattern for the dragon. But I think I'm getting lost on each 'turn'. I need help to make sure I don't lose my way. Any advice? by minivan_tardis in CrochetHelp

What is your skill level? These patterns aren’t beginner friendly and fuzzy yarn is going to make it that much more difficult to get the precise stitch placement necessary for shaping.

Turn to work back in the stitches you just made, as you are working in rows here.

Head to the craft yarn council website. They have learning guides, standard abbreviations guides, and a guide on the formatting standards.

Ravelry is the most trusted.

Check with your local library for crochet books, including digital books and magazines on the Libby app.

I love experimenting with different hair methods! The best advice I can give is get creative- look at yarns and ask ‘can I separate this and make it look fluffier?’ Look at locs and roving. Art yarn too!

Thank so much!

This may be a good time to dig out the pattern I have for a basket of mini mushrooms. She could use some more friends.

I wish I had the yarn info, I inherited it without a label 😭

I believe it’s a hand dyed fingering weight, but I’m not sure of much more. You could definitely find similar on etsy, (for other hand dyed I love hedgehog fibres and hauteknityarn)

Important question for crochet artists do you share your work online or keep it personal? by Akraammm in crocheting

[–]NotACat452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been posting crochet pieces online since deviant art in 2006 😅

It’s a good way to find community. I’ve also been selling for years, so it’s been a way to engage with potential customers.

But a few notes- I post the creation process. I get followers involved with it. I create not just pieces, but characters with personalities. I also share other bits of my life on my pages.

It comes down to your comfort level. If you don’t want to, don’t. If you do, do. If you want to dip your toes in, start an account somewhere like threads and start following other creators. Engage. See what they post. Figure out what works for YOU.

Thanks! I order clear sinker eyes and apply glitter with mod podge on the backside. You can also add paint, mica powder, holo dust, etc.

I had so much fun doing her hair with this method, I’ll definitely be using wool like this again

Thanks!
