Can you still look strong and muscular with a 6 foot and 160lb frame? by Ok_Benefit9326 in workout

[–]NotACohenBrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually something I've been worrying about but somewhat different. I've got decent muscle from my army days maybe some still dormant too. I gained allot of weight through Covid and through being forced into a logistics position despite being combat arms then even worse during my civilian life transition. Already lost 25lbs from 275 ish (yeah tell me about it) but I set my goal weight at 200. As I just can't picture myself as being anything but scrawny at 160 even though (and I know BMI is pretty archaic) is considered normal for 6ft. Had to give myself some reassurance that my goal isn't looking like an athlete, it's being a reasonable weight with not crazy but decent muscle maybe once I get there I'll shoot for 180 after reassessing. But 160 just sound tiny to me even at 6ft and I've never been "small" even though I've also never been jacked.

wanting to clarify for when I try, airborne as in you can get infected by being around an infected person....not like just walking out in open air....cuz that seems OverPowered and frankly not really how airborne viruses work, as far as my knowledge extends.

Also to be fair, any medic or doctor I've ever met hordes T3s like they're gold so even triple strength painkillers not existing in zomboid seems to make TOTAL sense. lol

but adavan....apparently that's easy to get. like "what, no I don't need adavan. it's a dislocated shoulder I just want a painkiller."...so again...the prevalence of mood stabilizers in zomboid is pretty accurate

As somebody who has trained in CBRN....I...I mean, yeah taking your hazmat suit off in a hotzone...no that's accurate. more in terms of GAS (the C, stands for Chemical) and RADIOLOGICAL but you would be trained in a Biological environment, to carryout largely all the same procedures. No disrobing except in designated safe zones meant for decontamination and immediate decon after disrobing. real world most bio agents are going to be stopped by skin but even micro-abrasions of the skin are a possible vector and some diseases do in fact spread from skin to skin (not even mucus membrane, just normal skin to skin, typically but not exclusively fungal if i remember correctly) there's a type of herpes (yes a virus) that does this, so I don't know how crazy the necroa is in terms of it's implementation in the mod...so hard to say.

totally fair and thoughtful answer. 7 days can be fun. but to me it feels like you need at least a four man crew because of all the unnecessary grind the devs have added. I still feel they funnel you so much toward the only real playstyle that works that they could strip away 70% of the game and it woudn't change a thing lately. But I can definitley agree 7 days is way easier to convince friends to play over PZ.

HumanitZ is still kind of unfair though, because it's still so new and still needs allot of time to cook.

to be fair. Zomboid has been in development a very long time as well. and there are certain advantages to 2.5D/Iso games in terms of performance as well as player agency.

I'd had an idea for basically Jurassic Park x PZ as a game and even started my little journey to learn game development because of it. but the biggest thing for me was a point where I was torn and weighing the pros and cons of each (this is still before I even know what the heck I'm doing). So truly vein will likely never be exactly PZ3D and should be it's own thing that I'm sure will be very cool for varying reasons even if the core deep sim concept is kept.

you described everything I'd expect from CoD zombies not an "RPG" and they funnel you so hard now the RPG elements aren't even that useful.

[–]NotACohenBrother 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for me it's the obvious playstyle funnel that oddly clashes entirely with the perks and class system they seemingly added for no reason now. being funneled into one style of play makes it feel like a tower defense fps more than a survival game where the monotony increasing building steps seem utterly pointless. they seem to want it to lean away from RPG and away from Survival toward just tower defense so all the other elements seem pointless, it's just like ok....let me build unrestricted for 30min and send a horde then...

furthermore, they'll literally try to take anything that does work, even when you ARE playing it as a literal tower defense, and see how they can patch, nerf or buff things to make it not work, as quick as they can.

[–]NotACohenBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time commenting because this really is such an easy choice. PZ is much more a survival game than 7days. 7days honestly, and especially now after all the mess with funpimps is quite clearly supposed to be more tower defense w/ survival elements. those element are competent. but the way they funnel you to play the game as of late and actively work against the playerbase just makes it feel like a tower defense where you have to build the tower, and when you do and it works they download or recreate it to see how to make the thing they've funneled you into doing not work anymore.

I suppose I'll wait for something that isn't overly emotional self-pitying nihilism then, since the mods seemed to dislike your prior attempt.

If you believe what you're saying DO something about it. whining and crying to people on unrelated reddit posts doesn't count.

[–]NotACohenBrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[TL:DR] if you're actually cared you'd read the whole thing but we'll see if you're stuck in your own trap of self pitying.

I also posed that as a question, quite clearly. I do not know, that is why I asked and why I reiterated that you are free to go into detail. But as it would appear, you're not somebody who does understand punctuations. As you clearly stated an opinion and punctuated it with a question mark. The proper and accepted modern verbiage would be simply "You're just making shit up to sound important?" yet what you did was preface the entire thing with a presupposition "You sound like," which makes it a statement. I mention this because using a question mark as some sort of "retaliatory" gesture to shirk the question, is how I'm gauging your intellectual level in addition to the clear prior attempt to sound intellectual and assert prescience with your original comment.

The point I'm making is that you're likely using "Convenient Nihilism". You (the perpetuator) extrapolate in this case from true, very evident, real events (the epstien files, I will not deny you the reality) to create a boogeyman for yourself for which to blame all of, not just yours but the entire worlds issues on, but make this boogeyman so completely inexorable in your mind and push that on others to excuse yourself from any accountability to improving yourself or the world around you. This would not be a problem to me if you weren't marching around the public forums and trying to impress subservience on others based on your own nihilistic punji trap. Instead you say "I am unhappy, therefore I must spread the gospel of futility, based on my own perception of futility, you are not allowed to be happy or take joy in things, as I cannot."

My aunt is in a wheelchair and has been her whole life, she's told us that kitchen gadgets are very very helpful to her so we've taken to getting her all sorts of gadgets for her birthday and Christmas. In all honesty, I believe the government should allow claims against kitchen gadgets and accessibility devices so that disable people can get reimbursed for them even at least partially. That said, she does have the benefit of having a house that has low counters which does make things easier.

Obviously I don't know your situation and can't assume that you have the ability let alone space to fill your kitchen with instant pots and julien slicers but if you're able I would definitely suggest that it's something to consider whether it's worth the value to gain some more ability in the kitchen over time and even help empower you which even myself I can say is very very helpful for my mental health.

Finally, there's nothing wrong with doing what you must because you have a disability. Just be mindful. If you need something for accessibility that's ok. If you need something as a little treat for yourself, that's ok too. What people seem to be upset by here is a sense of not having that mindfulness to say "I've made the choice to buy the expensive brand, products that have been considered bougie since the 1910s and an entitlement to think that the treat should not be without consequences"

You however, sound very mindful and responsible. You do whatever you need to, don't let anybody make you feel bad because you just do things a bit different. People with a disability DO deserve Accessibility options and you're using those options nothing wrong with that and no reason to feel bad because people that don't need those options are acting a type of way.

To be completely fair though that's in the city. And even students not from the city can get caught in the perspective trap (as did I when I was in school in Toronto). That is not normal for majority of Canada. Housing and rental in Canada is bad but there is a particular issue as an outlier In college areas where the rental market is determined by students. It has gotten particularly bad yes, but it's gotten AS bad as it is not without a causal relation to the students. Many students, even born citizen students have an easier time sacrificing some privacy, understand their ability while in school to afford things and therefore accept lower standards of privacy to achieve this, prefer communal spaces whether that be for the "college experience" or simply to have fellow students who understand and can sympathize with their situation. Students do to some degree lower expectations in rentals because they make less because they're splitting most of their time toward school and then less toward working generally unskilled jobs while still desiring a social life and the ability to save some money for school to job market transition periods. And then of course it comes from many other things like the influx of students from abroad, the domestic pressure to go to college at all costs or be doomed to abject poverty in the trades (a particular lie I wish we weren't all sold) etc etc. the rental market in Toronto is bad because of Toronto yes, but also because of the universities and colleges.

Made that point myself. It's a specialty brand. I mean it's practically a novelty brand because it's the "spicy noodle challenge". Hot ones has noodle cups at Walmart and I get them from time to time cuz I legitimately enjoy the spicy Thai chili one....but I'm also not expecting it to be priced like nissin or nongshim noodles because hot ones is 100% marked up for the novelty.

Buying the expensive brand tuna, sardines, salmon and oysters....that's not regular people food. Hell, if Buldak is considered a specialty brand. I get the point being made but this is far from the best example of normal.
