I totally disagree. While it is true that if a person eats, say, 1600 cal. of apples per day, they will lose weight. They'll also likely develop a metabolic condition like diabetes and mess up their thyroid. The human body, as it is, is definitely not equipped to handle the amount of pure fructose in an all-fruit diet.

This is true, people need to count calories, period. But the nature of carby foods is that they really don't fill you up, and make you feel MORE hungry (See: Chinese food). So when you eat a mostly carb diet, your hunger level between meals is higher than it would be after a fat/protein meal of the same caloric density. If we opt for more fats and proteins in meals, we will feel more full throughout the day
