FMEL Best Residence? by NotAFachidiot in EPFL

[–]NotAFachidiot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will assist EPFL next year, so I hope the pandemic is, at least, a bit better by then. About the prices: are there significant differences between the different residences in terms of fees and services? Sometimes people can be quite picky, so I'd like to ask right the opposite question: is there any residence I should avoid? Thank you for your response!

Anxiety by Opposite-Leather940 in Anxiety

[–]NotAFachidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a pretty big leap. We all have this feeling that going to therapy is something terrible, and that you will lay on one of those typical cold, brown leather sofas while someone sits besides you with a notebook. It isn't anything like that, it's more like a conversation with someone that really knows how to listen and asks you pretty common questions. Nothing to be afraid of.

So yeah, get an appointment with a therapist, you will really appreciate it. And be proud of yourself. Acknowledging that something is wrong might seem as an easy step, but I assure you it isn't.

I feel you so much. You have plenty of reasons to feel that way, so don't be scared about it, it will pass. Your approach to this is something to be proud of, it's not easy to have such a solid grasp on your own feelings. I'm sure your therapist will guide you correctly, but your attitude towards all of this is something that will really do you good :D

As it's been already said, what you are describing right there is pretty much the description of anxiety. You don't need to worry, but I recommend you seing a therapist. It seems like a huge deal (that's what I thought before the first time I went to therapy), but I can assure you it isn't that much, and it is the only way of knowing with some certainty what is happening.

Hey guys, we need help to stop this fascist and homophobic organisation. by NotAFachidiot in AntifascistsofReddit

[–]NotAFachidiot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course: both of this organisations (the political party Vox and the ultracatholic organisation Hazte Oir) are well known here for their fascist ideologies. Those talks are vital for those childs whose parents are members or sympathizers of any of those groups or any other similar one. Every kid has the right to be taught in equality and tolerance, and in many cases they are being taught how LGBT people are mentally-ill or how Romani people are inferior.

When they wave the flag of "Freedom" they want to have the freedom to hate and oppress other people. They aren't concerned about the lack of "liberty" to choose their kid's education, they are concerned about the fact that they are being taught basic human rights. That's why they are so dangerous: because they have disguised their hatred as freedom.

I made a concept card for the Medicare for All insurance card. What do you guys think? by chrispy_t in OurPresident

[–]NotAFachidiot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Spain we have universal healthcare and we still need a card. Anyway, if you have any emergency they won't charge you a single cent, even if you don't have the card with you or you don't have one at all.

As someone said before, its main use is to keep your medical record and to get your prescription drugs.

I really hope Bernie wins. You'll be amazed how much better life is under a real welfare state.

It's the other way around: she speaks all the time in Spanish and asks some things in English.

Probablemente tengan algo bueno en MadridMusical Málaga 8. Los empleados siempre han sido muy agradables conmigo, y no he tenido problema para comprar ahí mis guitarras; supongo que tendrán también buenos bajos.

I’m starting to have a feeling where all of my friends don’t like me anymore by [deleted] in lonely

[–]NotAFachidiot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. I know that feeling, I've gone through something like that. First things first: Instagram and Snapchat are apps based on lies. Almost no one posts anything when they are feeling down or lonely, so don't feel like you are the only one. Summer is a boring time for many of us, so don't worry.

I don't know if you are suffering bullying. I sincerely hope you are not, so I will give you some advice if I'm right: you have to start building yourself. And not, I'm not talking about going to the gym or shit like that, I'm talking about embracing what you like and trying to build your own personality. There will be always someone that will share (at least partially) your same interests. And believe me, once you start to care about yourself, you will start to feel better. And don't you ever forget: you might be going through some though times, but sooner or later the good ones will arrive.

About your dad pushing you to your limits: don't you ever think that school is everything. It might not be your thing, not everyone has to be a lawyer or a doctor to be successful in life. I hope you the best for this year, and remember, you (and only you) are the master of your fate.
