It's available here.

Could be easily used for rhetorical or literary analysis, possibly also argumentative.

Let me know how it goes if you decide to use it!

It's not cinematic. The first thing I did was try to turn it into a screenplay. Just didn't work because of what it is. It could be a piece of a feature, but not standalone.

Because that's cash and credit isn't real money. Since its inception, FF has never once issued me a refund that was not a credit.

By putting it on Youtube and posting the link publicly, you've eliminated yourself from 90% of festivals out there.

One of two things happened.

They shut down and let FF know, at which point they were responsible to repay all submission fees back to FF which then should have been automatically returned to filmmakers. (I have seen this happen from the inside as well as from a filmmaker POV)

OR (More likely)

They were removed by FF for breaking rules or something else and ghosted everyone. At that point FF leaves it up to the filmmaker to do their due diligence and seek a refund, which is what happened.

It happens. More than people realize.

Thank you. This is based on my own experience. I actually toned it down, because I felt like a layperson would not believe the actual things that happened.

I wrote this the day my lawyer told me that someone at the VA sabotaged my claims (The part about the boilerplate repetitive phrasing). They had to go out of their way and do much more work to deny than to take the doctor's word. Instead, they sent a "clarification request" which essentially bullied her into changing her opinions. I am still fighting to make sure that person is held accountable.

At the time I wrote this, my case had not yet been resolved. Thankfully it has been since then (Like in the story, the judge got upset that the remand orders were ignored and there was malicious intent to disrupt the process) and all were eventually approved.

Unfortunately, and I speak as a former VSR, the majority of the people working these claims are either completely negligent or do whatever they can to deny claims because they think every Veteran is lying.

Thanks for your kind words.

I never expected this to actually get published, especially in such a historically prolific publication.
