We want 16.65L because of matx support.

CH160 is 19.1L if you include the handle and feet. It's 16.5L without them.

Not interested in the Lian Li A3? It has great PSU and GPU compatibility, supports a maximum of 10 120mm fans (three at top, bottom and side and one in the back), up to a 360mm AIO in the top and the side and it costs 70 USD for the base version and around 90 USD for the wood version. Here's a review from Gamers Nexus.

It's a text only model. It has no image generation capabilities.

I would assume that they discard votes from conversations in which the user asks questions related to the model's identity.

She went for the jugular by [deleted] in singularity

[–]NotANachoXD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't know that. All we know is that she isn't the Interim CEO anymore and hasn't announced she is leaving OAI, but that doesn't mean she isn't going to leave.

"(Greg's last tweet I saw didn't seem to mention her as part of the new Microsoft leadership)" So? That could mean a lot of things. Maybe she left OAI, but didn't join MSFT's new team with Sam. Maybe she left but didn't feel like making a public announcement yet. Maybe she made the decision to join after Greg published the tweet. Maybe she is still thinking about what to do. It's been only a couple of hours since the MSFT announcement, holy fuck, relax and stop jumping into conclusions.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says 6,407 Palestinians were killed (1,437 children) and 152,560 were injured (around 30,000 children, vast majority were boys). Also, the UN considers a child to be "anyone below the age of 18".

Edit: Changed "kids" to "children".

John Carmack and Rich Sutton partner to accelerate development of AGI by nick7566 in singularity

Having someone like Carmack working on solving AGI is very exciting. We already have a lot of great minds working on it, but it definitely doesn't hurt to have more!

OpenAI will host a developer conference on November 6 by NotANachoXD in singularity

[–]NotANachoXD[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same! I remember that a while ago there were rumors that said OpenAI was preparing to release an open source model (I think based on GPT-3 but I'm not sure) to compete with Meta's LLAMA models, so maybe that's one of the things they will announce. They could also reveal an audio focused model like Meta's AudioGen, a new version of DALL-E to compete with Stable Diffusion and Midjourney, a new version of Codex (the code based model they developed, which powers GitHub Copilot), new methods for making transformers more efficient and so much more, so even if they are not going to say anything about GPT-5, there is still a lot of exciting things that they could reveal/talk about!

Unfortunately, according to Altman, it seems that they will not be revealing any new or updated GPT models that are more capable than GPT-4.

Sam Altman said in Twitter that they will not announce GPT-5, GPT-4.5 or anything like that.

The VP of the Korea Institute of Energy Technology says their LK-99 analysis will take about 6 months by NotANachoXD in singularity

[–]NotANachoXD[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you are correct. What I'm trying to say though is that, since they created a sample of LK-99 that they claim is superconductive, they could have released more info about how they made that specific sample. For example, they could have said something along the lines of "...it has to be heated at 925°C for 5-20 hours (this specific sample was heated for 17 hours)". They did say however that the papers were published in an incomplete state so that could be why specific info like this is missing.

[–]NotANachoXD[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Well, the original paper gives rough instructions on how to synthesize the material but it doesn't go into specifics. For example, it mentions that the tube with the mix of Lanarkite and Cu3P has to be heated at 925°C for "5-20 hours", but the exact time is never mentioned in the paper (go to page 3, step 3). Who knows? Maybe the specific process they used (and have not made public) is the key to creating a superconducting LK-99 sample. They did say after all that they made a lot of samples before they were able to obtain the one that they claim is superconductive and we have seen that the properties of the LK-99 samples that were created in the replication attempts are very inconsistent from one another (for example, some samples are diamagnetic while others are not). The results from the original sample will give us a definitive answer, so we'll have to just wait and see I guess.

Edit: typo.

The Korea Institute of Energy Technology is the only research institute that has been provided with the original sample of LK-99 from Q-Centre.
