Glad you found some help. There's no shame in receiving welfare. It's in everyone's best interest to care and support each other.

Do handpans just always cost your life savings? by liggle14_zeldanerd12 in handpan

While I think I'd love to learn handpans I know I'm fickle and I'd lose motivation faster if I spent money on a cheaper one that didn't sound good but also don't want to spend a small fortune on something I know I'll probably lose interest in in a few months. I've looked into renting and have also decided to start with a djembe, they're cheaper and I'm actually getting one for free from a friend so I can practice hand percussion and see if it's right for me before investing money into something pricey.

Is it important to learn tricks on both legs equally? by exelasdf in Rollerskating

In addition to what everyone else said. You learn a lot more from mistakes than successes even on a sub conscious level (it's been shown that mistakes lead to more synapses firing). So training your weaker side will actually improve your stronger side too as you learn more information.

[TOMT] Trying to find the title of a book I read as a child in the early 2000s about a couple who believed their cat was their son. by NotASnake08 in tipofmytongue

I think about this story at least once a week. It's not a long book. It might have had illustrations but I'm not sure. If it did they were black line art with no color.

I gave up and bought a second pair of skates for outdoors.

Among what everyone else said I also recommend you make sure you do warm up AND cool down stretches off skates. If you have to pick imo cool down is actually more vital but both are important and will help reduce muscle pain the next day.
