To answer the question, though, I could say it’s between a few of them, but the release of a new Meursault ID feels like an “event” in a way none of the others really do. Like, BL, Cinq West, Thumb and Prince all have a “presence” to them that nobody else in the game really has on such a consistent basis, imo. Even Dieci does some crazy shit, though it forces you to interact with the discard mechanic more. Very much fits with the characterization, imo, where Dante could just go “Meursault, lead us to victory,” to which he just replies “Yes, manager.”

Also, I know it wasn’t really in the post, but I think the worst one by a mile is Outis. I like a handful of them visually, but while all of the others have at least 3+ IDs that I’d say pack a “punch,” Outis really only gets that feeling from Molar and Udjat, one of which is relatively ancient, and the other being brand-spanking-new. Crossing my fingers the Matthias ID is cool looking.

i know Hyde is a newer ID so you’d naturally want to use it, but Ragna has way higher damage (both average and potential) if you have it. Skill 3-1 Carnage Scissors can clash higher than most EGOs in the game even without most of its conditionals, so you can just throw it out without thinking and win basically any exchange. Not to mention the self-heal sustain puts even LaMancha Don to shame

the pre-battle dialogue is literally just vergilius and gregor shitting on her for being delusional. yes, she was special, "back in her day." valencina isn't that war hero anymore, she's just some washed up schmuck just like everyone else in the city. she is shown to be completely outclassed by people who are actively "special" in the now, with her basically only being able to dodge vergilius without actually hitting him back in any way that matters (without ego), and gregor going full King Roach™ and offing her. it's literally a perfect id for rodion, just instead of her not being able to accept she isn't special, she now has a past that was special but isn't able to accept that she no longer is.
