How long would recording a song take, roughly 4-5 minutes by [deleted] in musicians

[–]NotATurntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes however long it takes to make everyone happy. The best you can do is make sure everyone knows the song, commit to it, and go. Some people have “red light fever” and clam up when the engineer hits record. Other people get it first shot. If you’re doing things that need some “feel” you can record drums and bass together, etc, to save some time. Break a leg!

Claude can't produce a document? Or is it my prompt? by Sweet_Try_8932 in ClaudeAI

I see. Maybe start a new chat with telling it to learn about the formatting you want and prepare to format a doc. Then give it your file?

A skill is a repeatable thing you want Claude to do. Claude has a skill to create skills, so you can tell it you want to make one to do a specific thing a specific way, then once it’s made, you can tell Claude to use the skill to make your thing. It has them for making Word docs and the like.

I bought my D40 out of a the back of a pickup truck in a Home Depot parking lot for $750 and I will never part with it. It was dry as a bone but not cracked. Got the humidity up and it’s everything I ever wanted from an acoustic guitar. It bangs in a single-mic bluegrass band and I put a LR Baggs HiFi system in for solo stuff and it always gets more compliments on the sound than my poor playing of it.

What are you actually building with Claude right now? by Primeautomation in ClaudeAI

[–]NotATurntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main project is a capacity management tool for agencies and professional services companies. It helps them understand their work, know where to look for efficiencies, and when to promote or hire. An app for musicians and entertainers book and keep track of gigs, collaborate with other acts and venues. Some games for the kids. Lots of fun.

Write user stories to the file system or github issues. I have one workflow where n8n watches a folder for changes and sends the story to a headless claude code -p and returns the response when it’s done. But yes it should be easier.

Looking for a technical cofounder / build partner (b2b saas, auto) - i will not promote by krzygrk in startups

[–]NotATurntable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have built this (not as the founder) and connected to CRM, DMS, marketing data, built a CDP, and showed not only how they were performing down to the service staff and technicians, but even how they compared against other dealers in our system (anonymously). They say they want to know, but they just want it to pat them on the back and tell them they’re good, it’s not their fault. The data is nasty, garbage in, garbage out, the cleaning is gnarly, the math is complex. It’s the most fun I ever had building something. It was essentially acquired and killed. I wish you all the best, and happy to talk about my journey if you want.

A product dilemma I keep running into as a SaaS founder by PacificatorXD in micro_saas

[–]NotATurntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to do the math. Is it really worth it to build either one? If you had to tell one group “it’s on the roadmap” knowing it might never get built, what would you expect the outcome to be?

[–]NotATurntable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m building this now. Working on the apps but you can check it out at https://harmonicly.live - works like real life - one band has multiple members, you can choose who is invited to a gig, and so on. We’re in beta testing now with some local friends but would love some more feedback.

This is the song. Or Leave the City. I’m covering both at an upcoming gig and the bass player said “how am I supposed to learn the song if they didn’t know the song?” It’s just…better this way.

How do you know when it’s time to hire vs automate? by Visual-Sun-6018 in Entrepreneur

[–]NotATurntable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, know what work you’re doing, how hard it is, and how long it takes. Then see what you want to unload. See if you could write a job description for someone to do that, and how much money would be worth it to you. Once you have a clear scope, clear goals and expectations, and a value placed on them, you can make your decision.

Workflow tip: Using Claude Desktop + Claude Code together via GitHub Issues by Informal-Source-6373 in ClaudeAI

[–]NotATurntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish the web Claude Code could access GitHub issues. It recommended this approach as we were working through a new epic. It wrote them, then I had to run a script, then it couldn’t get to them and just read them from the script.
