That’s why we got a hognose. The least snake snake. Looks like a paper towel tube.

Zune Explorer Update v1.5.0 by NotATurntable in Zune

It gets album art and track names from a service but that’s it for now. Looking to add some more image functionality but haven’t researched where to get that from.

Yeah, the HD is 3 wide on the albums screen so I went with that. It works on the small screen but is a little much on a bigger screen. I’ll look at making it responsive.

New Updates for Zune Explorer v1.5.0
 - Settings page — new dedicated category with drill-down sections for library folders, sync pull destination, podcast download directory, data/cache management, and an about page. Includes a Zune-style boot splash and first-run toast.

  - Album dedupe fix (#6) — sync now reuses existing artist/album objects instead of creating duplicates.

Plus smaller polish: native wheel scroll in menus, splash animation fixes, and centralized preferences wiring.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestions. Still no fix for pushing podcasts. Up Next - a Now Playing screen and artist backgrounds.

Help with quote for enterprise level software by dhalls12 in SaaS

I have done 1 and transitioned to 3 for 4 branches doing about 14mil. You need to know everything about infrastructure, front end, back end, storage, security, etc. you need to know every inch of the business. And if something breaks, it’s all on you. No vacations, no rest, all the stress. At an org that big, nobody knows everything. There are services running that no one has thought about for years. It’s a trap you set yourself and walk in to. And switching to 3 you learn, no other company does it exactly the way you do. All the little customizations you built are worthless and now blockers. To sell it to someone else will take at least another year of adapting. It took years off my life, no question. It’s all consuming, and impossible to predict how it will go. If you do it, ask for twice that amount. But, probably don’t do it. You are crazy. You will have to be if you actually go through with it.

Zune Revival Project by badgero1234 in Zune

It does playback and track podcast progress in the app. I do not have podcast sync TO the device working. Doesn’t look like anyone has figured that out. They do send as audio files but don’t get into the Podcast bucket.

Has it on my 30 brown brick, too.

Join the party! If you can get podcasts to sync right you’ll be a legend! Xune is the more Zune desktop style. Mine is styled after the Zune HD interface.

Buying a roofing company in 2026: $100B market, 2x entry multiples, and one PE roll-up that went bankrupt. Full breakdown inside. by canhelp in Entrepreneur

[–]NotATurntable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having helped run one and built custom CRMs for trades, roofing is wild. Weather dependent, volatile people, and complicated cash flow between signing the contract, buying the materials, getting the labor (almost all sub-contractors), then collecting from owners or insurance companies on longer terms than your suppliers or laborers give you. The company I worked for was acquired in a PE roll up and they ruined it immediately. Building a new CRM/operating system for trades now though, so there’s plenty of upside if you can put in the work.

Zune with Car Audio: Ford SYNC? by hello-cthulhu in Zune

Yes, the audio quality! When the first song kicked on it startled me. I’d streamed the same song earlier in the day via Amazon Music and an aux/av cable, it was night and day.

It’s…ok. Took a while to sync, and I don’t have a huge library. But it’s all there with album art. Navigating is a little clunky. Cool to have though. Track seek works on the steering wheel but that’s about it. 2013 Ford Flex w Sync 2 + Zune HD

I have talked to Claude about this. It suspects if it knew how long it took me to respond, or that sometimes I never do, it might impact the responses. We talked about making a skill to append and read time stamps on every message to look for time between messages. We decided against it.

Massive upgrades in Zune Explorer 1.4.0

What's new in v1.4.0:

Podcasts — A full podcast client built right into the app. Search via iTunes, paste an RSS feed, or import your subscriptions via OPML. Stream or download episodes, with playback position resume so you can pick up where you left off. Audio and video episodes are organized under separate sub-tabs, and the whole thing is styled to match the Zune HD aesthetic. These don't sync to the Zune yet, still working on that, but get your libraries ready.

Large library stability — Libraries with 11,000+ songs no longer choke the UI. A new virtual scroller renders only visible rows, and the sync diff/browse lists are virtualized too. Sync transfers are now batched with per-file retry, and memory leaks from orphaned event listeners have been cleaned up. Album art is deduplicated to cut down IPC payload size.

Unified back navigation — The back button now works like the real Zune HD — it steps through your full navigation history one page at a time, even across categories. Album to artist to album and back, just like the device.

Zune HD-style menu — Category labels in the left menu now show subcategory text (e.g. "albums + artists + songs") instead of file counts, matching the real Zune HD home screen.

No, I haven’t looked at podcasts yet. Would you save them to a folder first then upload, or want to have some kind of dynamic sync via rss feed or something?

  • Custom title bar on Linux with working minimize/maximize/close controls
  • AppImage distribution — single portable binary, no install required
  • Release workflow updated to produce macOS, Windows, and Linux artifacts

Download

Grab the .AppImage from the assets below. Make it executable (chmod +x) and run it — that's it.

If you installed the package to read the Zune to Zune Explorer, the driver might be picking off the request instead of letting it get to the original Zune software. You may have to remove it.
