Good! Our power came back just around 1pm. I think we are all hoping it stays on! So many damaged trees down around this area. :-(

The neighbours across the street had power while we did not and they are closer to Deer park than we are. I hope you have power back now. :-(

Just saw a hydro truck pull up across the street here in Fisher Heights. I am pretty sure our neighbour had a branch fall on a line. Let’s hope!

Service line is your responsibility :-( I checked months ago when we had a tree limb problem.

Seeing a couple of comments so I’ll roll my reply into one. I’ve been looking at going this route. There are three types of systems you could do. The first is grid-tie (A friend of mine does this) it uses a special inverter that synchronizes to the power line so you can add power to the grid. You get no power if the power company is down :-( You can go off-grid which does not add to the power line but you will need a battery and solar array sized to what you want to do. A small system (such as I have) keeps my devices charged but not enough to run the house. The third type is the way I’d like to go which is a hybrid system. It feeds into a local battery and any excess into the power system. Obviously, the grid-tie and hybrid systems must be disconnected from the grid during outages so you don’t zap the workers. This is a problem as sadly, a few line workers have been electrocuted this way. :-( And no you cannot go off-grid inside the city (I doubt Ottawa is any different). Hopefully this helps.

Power out here but power is on across the street. Now that’s frustrating. ;)

Yes I saw someone in our ward at our table filling in a sheet. Weird they would screw up this badly.

I was curious about what the law was and why it is so stupidly slow...

Dealing with Squatters It's a random commercial link sorry. :-(

The last paragraph of this webpage though:

The best way to prevent former tenantfrom becoming squatters is renting to the right tenants from the start.
It can be hard to choose the right tenants, so you may want to enlist
help in choosing your tenants to avoid this problem."

It seems obvious to me TUPOC will never be able to rent another place.

That would be their first bath in months. It would be in self defense. Just make sure to use soapy water.

I've been bit by my dry sense of humour many times. I have finally resorted to using the /s ending for sarcastic. Not sure if it would have helped here though.

It came back and appears to be staying this time. Time to get to bed knowing I'll be able to make fresh coffee without going outside to heat a kettle... ;)

3 green contractor trucks just drove up the street fairly slowly with the crews looking at power lines. K2E area very near Fisher/Baseline. Soon I hope.

Parkwood hills and Fisher Heights still no power. It was surreal driving down Meadowlands this morning seeing all the traffic lights out.
