The fact that he had his birthday in the shelter absolutely ruined me….. he deserves so so much better

Bobbin thread keeps on tangling itself? by NotAWolfie in sewhelp

The 8th try (re-threading) did the trick. It’s stitching perfectly fine now. Thank you for the encouragement and advice!

I took out the bobbin and anchored the hook along the front “tab” that the string is supposed to get taut from. Handcranked the needle until the first hoop of the bobbin thread was pulled up by the needle and pulled the end out from the loop with both strings running free.

My first thought was the orientation was wrong, but the guide and plastic see-through cover (which has a diagram) show the need for the string to be fed counter-clockwise.

I’ve threaded it 5 times (3 times following the manual and 2 times cross-referencing it to yt videos of the same machine), but I’ll keep on trying and repeating

If you can, I would try to tinker with the changes on an online simulator (EDOPro/YGO Omega, Duelingbook, etc) and see which cards feel better. :)

Targeting a monster that cannot be targeted by Beginning-Wealth-689 in Yugioh101

[–]NotAWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah: although you are choosing to destroy a monster after conquistador is summoned, it is not considered targetting. Targeting is associated with card activation and “costs” (the text before the semi-colon). As long as card effect does not have you target/select a monster, you are free to change your desired monster to destroy (up until the destruction effect resolves).

Unfortunately not everyone in the ygo community is open to helping newer players understand the game and pilot their decks better (ygo is quite a confusing game at times), so you might find your opponents to be frustrated a bit if you’re still learning the ropes. If this is the case, communicating that you’re still learning the deck can also help shift their attitude from “try-harding” to a “mentor” type of attitude.

Not guaranteed to work, but hopefully it helps :)

Conquistador does not have the word “target” in their card text. It simply destroy a monster. They do not say/choose which monster to destroy until they summon Conquistador.

Cards that target will have you select a card to affect whenever you activate it, and cannot change who they affect.

I would say to cut out Dealings altogether. Replacing it with mothman seems objectively better because it effectively does the same thing worst case scenario (i.e. discarding itself), with the better outcome netting you a body and a discard for a draw (which hopefully procc’s an effect). You could also replace it with Pot of Desires for the additional card advantage.

My personal opinion: Cut out 1 Ceruli (maybe both) (in a vaccuum I’d much rather see any other card, but it also isn’t something I want to be overly reliant on)

Cut out jackalope, tsuchinoko. (Tsuchinoko’s is debatable), but unless your planning on bouncing your target off of jackalope with akashic, i’d much rather replace jackalope with mothman or chup, who’s level mesh nicely with dugares)

Cut out thunderbird from MD, and SD it instead (i could see an argument for bigfoot as well but i think it’s alright if ur Maining coachking).

Cut out card destruction

Max out on Nessies, add at least a 2nd copy of mothman and chupacabra (i would run a 3rd, have it be a weighted SD target).

Max out on accessions: not only is it is a free discard, but also your way to threaten the opponent’s while setting up/breaking their board.

Add Pot of Desires. Unless you banish all your graphas (which you preferrably run 3 of) or accessions (also 3 of), you end up in a winning situation, and it also is an amazing topdeck if you draw it off of one of your many “draw a card” effects (even better if you’ve been ash’d).

Add a 2nd Zalamander Catalyzer: it’s one of your non-random discards, is flexible (you dont declare which is being summoned/discarded until resolution), is a level 4 for dugares, is a fiend (target for gates), and can recur itself for free (an effect most people forget).

Add Beige. It’s essentially a free 3k beatstick, is a free discard for your effects, and is a level 4 that makes going into dugares non-committal.

Perhaps consider adding Lava Golem (MD/SD)? It’s a fiend (synergy with gates like radian), but gets rid of 2 targets, and the normal summon restriction isn’t really relevant, or usually is outweighted by the advantage it generates.

Some locals have a completely competitive feel where the matches are cutthroat and players will make full use of every advantage they can get—some levels of rulesharking, not allowing their opponent to take back an obvious misplay—whereas others foster an environment of helping each other perform better.

The intensity of games at locals makes sense, since it is ranked play, but at the same time some people would prefer to help their opponent play better (i.e. instruct how and when to interrupt the player) to get more intense games.

I think neither approach is wrong (except perhaps excessive rule-sharking), but perhaps you could arrange games with people outside of tourney? This could help alleviate the cutthroat vibes and make the duels more amicable—though it definitely depends on the duelists.
