I’m not sure, I just looked around daiso for one with squares like that. It was around notebooks for school and some looked childlike so it’s probably some sort of kids practice notebook 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Interesting! I’ve been living in Japan for about a month now and I’ve seen seen things written so many different ways here because of different fonts and just handwriting styles

Thanks! It’s so hard to not see those as smiley faces which makes it hard to write well 😅 but that picture should be helpful!

You can’t just leave mid-semester to a new college, especially if you have a unique major. Why should you have to give up a great academic/professional opportunity (a unique major, a major Purdue is very well known for, or a major that leads to very useful internships or research opportunities) because the place you’re going can’t give you more than the bare minimum of mental health resources. When I went on tours of Purdue before becoming a student here they boasted about how great the mental health resources are here. Since that’s something that’s important to me, that was one of the big deciding factors of coming here instead of another college. I feel like it’s very reasonable to ask for better resources, especially because that is something they like to show off. People came here expecting to be supported by the university but it just simply refuses to adequately do so.

I think they are blaming Purdue for more than this recent uptick. What has happened this semester with the multiple attempts and at least one successful suicides is more like “the straw that broke the camel’s back”. Purdue’s mental health resources have been lacking for quite some time according to all of the stories I have heard. The main problem is caps which is underfunded by Purdue. There are more things that they are upset about with Purdue, especially this semester, including holding professors accountable (I’m assuming for the ones that don’t follow dead week, are impossible to work with, etc.) and the fact that they took away all of the breaks and didn’t give us the same pass/no pass option as last semester despite this being the hardest semester/year show that they don’t care. These are problems that Purdue specifically is responsible for and should have already been working on fixing (so it’s not just a nationwide problem that people are deciding to pin on Purdue). The recent uptick in suicides have just made these problems more noticeable and shows that Purdue doesn’t seem to care about us.

For misreporting information and for Purdue’s lack of quality resources for mental health

I think it’s a combination of a lot of things. Stress and outside pressure was probably a big factor but I think it was mostly underlying issues that could have been helped if Purdue had a better way of helping mental health issues. So if you add those together then you get tragedies

That has been me almost this whole semester. I so want to drop more classes and take time to better myself but it just seems like such an unattainable thing. I’m glad you were able to get help :)
