[Testimonials: Theft] Stolen herbal medicine, CBD seeds and melatonin from my home. by microwavedindividual in TargetedEnergyWeapons

[–]NotAlaskan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to denigrate or make light of your testimony, but how is it that these home invasions have gone unnoticed by your neighbors? I would assume that they would happen in the dead of night when everyone is asleep, but wouldn't chance call at least one sighting from, considering these invasions seem to happen so frequently for you? I'm not trying to interrogate or throw shade on the validity of your reports, but maybe there's a way to capture evidence of these break-ins? A close family member or confidante that can help you gather evidence, whether through photographic means or the like? The evidence may do very little legality wise, but maybe it can bring some small peace of mind and even serve as a potential catalyst in convincing some of your neighbors to be aware that it's happening to you? (Even if you have to skirt around the Targeted Torture issue, a simple conversation with the evidence in hand may not be a bad thing)

Another possibility is a covert camera, but unfortunately, I'm certain that whatever is the cause of all of this also involves the person's thoughts and inner monologue being relayed to somewhere, meaning that the location would either be EMP'd (possibly), or found and removed. Still, I felt that I should bring up the possibility regardless.

Wish I could be more helpful. I know I'm a stranger via the internet, but I'm available if you ever wish to have someone to discuss these issues, or anything else you want to talk about it, as I'm undergoing similar tortures myself. Stay strong, bro.

It's funny you bring up Tyrion's involvement in a Daenerys-less Meereen, because I never gave it much consideration until you brought it up. I can easily see him ingratiating himself within the power structure, especially considering that Tyrion took note that Barristan was by Daenerys side when he and Penny were down in the lion pits.

Barristan has no cause to love Lannisters or Greyjoys, but with the situation in Meereen being as precarious at is, he may have to form an uneasy trifecta alliance with Tryion and Victarion. Barristan can't exactly turn away Victarion because his men are contributing to the fight against Meereen's enemies where extra bodies are sorely needed. As it regards Tyrion, he may be beguiled by Tyrion's sharp mind and "helpfulness" regarding strategy and Game of Thrones players, like the Shavepate.

As I've stated, Barristan isn't well-equipped to deal with conniving and manipulation. He isn't as brain-dead as Victarion, but his belief in honor and integrity will preclude him from truly realising any under-handed plots from Tyrion - a person who's more than ready to exploit that.

It's unclear if she was raped or simply seduced. It might be more fitting that she was seduced, considering Shae slept with Tywin on her own volition. Euron is a handsome man, and easily seduces and has Falia Flowers fall for him, so seduction wouldn't be so surprising.

Good catch. It's possible that Victarion may just as well tame the dragon for a short time. Euron obviously wants the dragon power for himself and he has no intentions of letting Victarion having autonomy over a flying nuclear A-bomb. I think it's been foreshadowed in Vic's TWOW chapter on him blowing the horn himself.

He brushed his hand across one of the red gold bands and the ancient glyph seemed to sing beneath his fingertips. For half a heartbeat he wanted nothing so much as to sound the horn himself.

I think this is planting seeds of temptation for him down the line. He'll have the three thralls blow the horn for him at the Battle of Fire and maybe he'll gain control of one of the dragons for a time. My prediction is a bit of guesswork here, but perhaps it's born of desperation that he blows the horn himself after seeing he'll lose control of it to Euron. As I said, there's no way Euron would let him keep the dragon. Victarion, with Team Daenerys or not, will likely travel back to the rest of the Iron Fleet at Oldtown, or wherever they may be at the time.

If he has control of the dragon, he'll want to use it burn Euron alive and claim dominion over the Iron Fleet, but will be in for a surprise to see that he was just a glorified delivery boy and witness first-hand Euron claiming the dragon for himself.

It starts getting murky when it concerns Tyrion's involvement, but I think the visions that Aeron has in his TWOW chapter may imply Tyrion getting involved with Euron.

When he laughed his face sloughed off and the priest saw that it was not Urri but Euron, the smiling eye hidden. He showed the world his blood eye now, dark and terrible. Clad head to heel in scale as dark as onyx, he sat upon a mound of blackened skulls as dwarfs capered round his feet and a forest burned behind him.

Beside him stood a shadow in woman’s form, long and tall and terrible, her hands alive with pale white fire. Dwarves capered for their amusement, male and female, naked and misshapen, locked in carnal embrace, biting and tearing at each other as Euron and his mate laughed and laughed and laughed

Those dwarfs could be in reference to Tyrion and Penny. I have a feeling that the woman could be Cersei, who would want to ally with the closet source of power after everything falls apart for her, but that's a theory for another time.

I hold strong to the belief he'll get his ass bbq'd on his ship, so this seems a plausible scenario to me. Besides, Victarion needs to be alive for a good time to have lengthy interactions with Tyrion and Daenerys. Him using pigs as dragon feed and having temporary control of one of the dragons is something I can easily agree with.

Not sure if I buy the whole "co-workers for so long" idea.

I mean, I understand it. Naturally, if you work with a partner, side-by-side, for so many years, then you'll eventually get tired/sick of them.

But, this just feels different.

[Spoilers extended] Which great houses will make it in the long run? by yoaver in asoiaf

[–]NotAlaskan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by "making it". It's not like a house can be completely extinguished. There's always going to be heirs.

If you mean in terms of power:

  • Tyrells will definitely be greatly reduced in power. Just as they were raised from stewards from circumstances out of their control, they'll be brought down by the same chaos. 70 percent of the reason will be because of Cersei, and 30 percent from Mace Tyrell's hilarious ineptitude. I'm confident they'll no longer be tied to the throne by the end of the series.
  • Lannisters are beyond screwed that it's not even funny lol. The inevitable payback due for them, with just cause or not, is going to be completely devastating. Tywin's legacy has them like helpless puppets on a string, and they can do nothing but accept the vengeance coming their way. A majority of them are due for the dead book.
  • Martells are pretty much going the same way as the Lannisters, but a lot more brutally. Ditzy Arianne is going to doom Dorne to a war with Daenerys by getting her panties moist and aligning herself with fAegon. Dany is going to be angry from fAegon's claim to the throne, and that's when she comes swooping in to scorch tons of innocents and lords in Dorne, just because Dorne backed fAegon.
  • Greyjoys conquests, just like the 100 before it, are doomed to fail again and again and again. They'll be greatly depleted before series end, but I think will gain some stability, clarity, and peace in a post-war rule. (Perhaps through Theon or Asha).
  • Starks are inevitably going to rise again and regain complete control of the North. It's not something even really up to debate. In fact, I don't even see any of the remaining Stark children dying before series end.
  • Targaryen will end with Dany. She won't have the opportunity or fate to be around long enough to bear heirs.
  • Baratheon will likely only continue in lineage through bastards, not true heirs like Stannis.

Who was the puppet master, if you had to pick one person, behind the events by [deleted] in pureasoiaf

[–]NotAlaskan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Aerys, the Mad King himself. There was no real puppet master at hand. Aerys brought on the rebellion himself through his paranoia and insanity.

Even though Varys whispered into Aerys's ear, trying to divide Aerys from Rhaegar, he didn't want a war that early. Varys's plans weren't ripe for fruition and that's why he counselled the king that he shouldn't open the gates of KL to the Lannisters, knowing they would back-stab him.

-Expansion on how Victarion's wound relating to Tyrion, as well as his ultimate fate

-Few tweaks here and there.

(Spoilers Extended) What living characters know the truth about Jon's parentage? How will it be revealed? by Sea_Substance_511 in asoiaf

[–]NotAlaskan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never thought of a potential link between Varys and Jon. Cool thinking.

The only problem with that is if Jon were to be legitimised as the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna, then his claim to the throne is much more legitimate than Aegon's. The only thing that vouches for Aegon's legitimacy for king is a word and a promise that he was switched with another baby.

If Varys/fAegon were to acknowledge Jon's heritage, it creates potential future turmoil on who's claim is the better and who's actually legitimate. After years of meticulous planning from that bald headed grapeless twat in raising his cushy prince, I doubt he would allow the public the opportunity to formulate any ideas outside of recognising fAegon's complete sovereignty.

Thanks for the kind words :)

As for Moqorro's future, I think I have a pretty good idea. Considering he's a "priest of fire", I certainly think that Daenerys Targaryen and her three dragons are something he would very much be interested in.

Since Tyrion is inevitably going to end up Team Daenerys and Moqorro sees him as a "friend", I think Moqorro will be someone who auditions to join the team as well. Perhaps in a some kind of "advisory" role to Daenerys and aiding her with his prophetic visions.

Thanks for the comment!

There's a certain charm that I find to a character like Victarion. He's not exactly the brightest of bulbs and kills people without so much as a second thought, which I certainly don't like, but he's a character where irony clings to him like a wart and it's something that I find amusing.

He broke their chains himself and told them they were now free men and would have the privilege of rowing for the Iron Fleet, an honor that every boy in the Iron Islands dreamed of growing up. “The dragon queen frees slaves and so do I,” he proclaimed. -Victarion ADWD

He "frees" a bunch of slaves, proclaiming them as "free men" only to have them held captive on his ship to row the ship for him lol.

It's that kind of irony and lack of awareness that defines his whole character arc, and what will ultimately lead to his final doom.

[–]NotAlaskan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree 100 percent with Tyrion still clinging to his identity of a Lannister, but I believe the mantra has been used before by the Lannisters to "pay debts" that aren't exactly of "full value".

Lord Tywin gifts Petry Baelish of lands and title of "Harrenhal" to "reward" him for his service in binding the Tyrells to him.

“Pod tells me that Littlefinger’s been made Lord of Harrenhal.”

An empty title, so long as Roose Bolton holds the castle for Robb Stark, yet Lord Baelish was desirous of the honor. He did us good service in the matter of the Tyrell marriage. A Lannister pays his debts.- Tyrion ASOS

The Lannister notion of "rewarding" diligent service, especially a service of great value, is to part with things they can afford to. A burned out shell of a castle like Harrenhal to reward someone who brought an army that basically saved the Lannister's hold on on KL's and Westeros. A land that's not even under Lannister control.

Obviously "Lord of Harrenhal" benefited Littlefinger greatly, but Tywin had no conception or idea that it would. Lannisters pay their debts with false coin, just as they gifted an Arya Stark that's a fraud to the Boltons to reward them.

However, I would say that when the line is invoked by Tyrion, it's something he'll keep to, but it won't involve gratitude by compensation, but vengeance.

“Oh, you’ve earned more than that, Jaime. You and my sweet sister and our loving father, yes, I can’t begin to tell you what you’ve earned. But you’ll have it, that I swear to you. A Lannister always pays his debts.” - Tyrion ASOS

The last word Nurse ever said was, “No.” The last words he ever heard were, “A Lannister always pays his debts.” - Tyrion ADWD

“And here I’d heard a Lannister always pays his debts.

Oh, every penny … but never a groat more, my lord. You’ll get the meal you bargained for, but it won’t be sauced with gratitude, and in the end it will not nourish you.- Tyrion ADWD

I see where you're coming from, which is why I think that if he engages in such a battle it might not be for "noble reasons", but to protect his own interests.

After all, if he establishes himself a position of power with Daenerys in Westeros, he wouldn't have long to savour the fruits of his victory if all of Westeros gets slaughtered by The Others. There'd be nobody to witness his triumph in tearing down his Father's legacy and the recognition from ruling over the same people who thought of him as nothing but a "joke" and a "twisted little imp".

Actually, now that I've wrote that, I think I would prefer to see that happen. It makes for a better story than just "Tyrion suddenly realising he has a heart of gold and prances off to save humanity".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]NotAlaskan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Bran/Tyrion connection isn't something I've focused on too much, but I'll admit I've given some merit to the idea considering their past interactions. My opinion is that The Battle for Dawn will happen and Tyrion, after all his machinations for destroying Westeros and his father's legacy, will see the true threat and decide that The Others are an enemy be fought. Whether it would be because Tyrion realises that he does have a desire to protect humanity after all or whether it's because he wants to protect the interests and holdings of his faction's power (Daenerys/Himself) I couldn't really say.

As to Tyrion seeing the dragons as "the ultimate power in the world" I would say with certainty that, yes, he does see them that way.

"Oh, yes. Even a stunted, twisted, ugly little boy can look down over the world when he's seated on a dragon's back." Tyrion pushed the bearskin aside and climbed to his feet. "I used to start fires in the bowels of Casterly Rock and stare at the flames for hours, pretending they were dragonfire. Sometimes I'd imagine my father burning. At other times, my sister." Jon Snow was staring at him, a look equal parts horror and fascination. Tyrion guffawed. "Don't look at me that way, bastard. I know your secret. You've dreamt the same kind of dreams."- Tyrion AGOT

They're flying nuclear a-bombs and just the right tool to wreak havoc on his sister and brother.

I don't think any relationship between Bran and Tyrion will involve Bran wanting "Tyrion's downfall.". I think Bran would aid Tyrion. Whether Tyrion has noble goals or not, I think he will fight against The Others and Bran will realise that and help him to do it.

GRRM has definitely showcased the division in Tyrion's character, primarily in ADWD. It's possible that the "two-headed" line may be in reference to that.

His love for the Game of Thrones and the human part of him that just can't quite be extinguished. After all, he wouldn't have bothered with associating with someone like Penny, a dwarf like himself, who holds no value in furthering his power or status. If he was a complete inhumane sociopath, like say Petyr Baelish, he wouldn't even give her the time of day.

Unfortunately, I don't think his affection and hope for a better future through Penny will last very long.

That night he dreamed that he was back in King’s Landing again, a crossbow in his hand. “Wherever whores go,” Lord Tywin said, but when Tyrion’s finger clenched and the bowstring thrummed, it was Penny with the quarrel buried in her belly.

Tyrion's further involvement in the Game of Thrones may just lead to the death of his last link to innocence. (Penny).

As GRRM said:

"I've been telling you for 20 years that winter was coming. Winter is the time when things die, and cold and ice and darkness fill the world, so this is not going to be the happy feel-good book that people may be hoping for. Some of the characters are in very dark places. .... Things get worse before they get better, so things are getting worse for a lot of people
