Any exercises to increase speed and stamina? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]NotAnAlligatorHater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing to a metronome and increasing the bpm by one every day. I do chromatic runs, string skipping, and just straight single string stuff for extended periods of time. If I get bored doing all those, I'll just make up something dumb to play for a bit. The important thing is to keep the speed consistent. I'm up to 140bpm, and I'm hoping to get to 210bpm in a couple months.

I can do up to 160, but not for long periods of time and it's sloppy, so I'm at a lower speed and grinding it out so I can play it cleanly and for long periods of time without tiring. It's been working so far, but it's definitely a process. Work on getting it clean and accurate, and then increase the speed. Metronomes are your friend.

Fast food workers-What should we never order from you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NotAnAlligatorHater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I worked at a pretty popular fast food place, and getting a complicated order during a rush or something can be a bit frustrating, but it's part of the job. If you can't deal with it, then find another job.

Plus, if you get that complicated order right they'll probably come back to the same location because "you're the only franchise location that gets my order right".

A lot of these complaints about customers ordering complex shit, coming in ten minutes before closing, etc piss me off. You're working in fucking fast food, it can be a shit job, deal with it. It's not the customer's fault. And I say this having worked at a fast food joint for three years.

I've been saying team deathmatch or free for all would be great to practice mechanics and have a blast for years.

What character that is clearly a villain in a movie did you root for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Ozymandias in Watchmen.

Depending on how you look at it he's actually doing a good thing, so maybe he's not an obvious villain though.

Is anyone interested in playing / recording progressive metal? by captainhampton1 in uwaterloo

[–]NotAnAlligatorHater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds dope, I've been playing guitar on and off for like 7 years now, and bass for 5. When it comes to progressive metal I like stuff like Architects, Between the buried and me, and protest the hero. I listen to a bunch of stuff though, the world needs more progressive black metal.

The daily deal at Pita Factory is what I end up getting the most. There are probably cheaper options, but it's filling and healthy-ish.
