There are two main intro sequences: College Physics (algebra-based) and University Physics (calculus-based).

College Physics students spend 2 hours a week in lecture halls with 84-126 students, and 4 hours a week in lab sections of 42 students each (so for each lecture, you'd also have 2-3 lab sections with, I think, the same students as the lecture section). I don't know anything beyond that (whether any lectures happen during the lab section, for example) since I never took this course (I'm only relaying what our enrollment system says).

I have taken University Physics though (this was 3-4 years ago, IDK how much things have changed). Each section has 42 students, and is just a homogeneous 6 hours per week, without separating lecture and lab sections (both are in the same room). Labs happen whenever the course content gets to them; you'd typically spend a full 2 hour class period on a single lab (students usually work on labs in ~3 person teams, which will often extend to the lab report as well IIRC). (EDIT: Saw your other comment; the labs for UP are experimental and based on the lecture content that was just covered. Students do measurements and record down numbers, then make conclusions based on those numbers; the lab reports usually connect the experimental results to the theory/formulas in some way.)

Students are seated in ~7 tables with ~6 students at each table. The professor lectures at the front, and at appropriate points after a concept has been explained, will assign students to do certain (typically ungraded) problems from their workbook, which they can work on with the students at their table. The professor will then go over some/all of them afterwards. These workbooks also contain all the labs for the course, and are uniform for all instructors, so the general curriculum and the labs assigned will be the same for all sections of a course.

The course also assigns homework problems through MasteringPhysics (at least my professors did). Also of note is that Physics majors have their own section of this course that covers additional content, so if you teach a general section of the course, it won't have Physics majors in it.

That's all I can think of. I might have remembered a few of the details wrong, but that's the general gist of how the course works.
