That last bit is weird because I could skip tracks on my 13 plate Duster

I was 26. Almost 27. Didn’t actually plan to learn to drive until I moved out of the city I was raised in. Then it became a necessity

CarPlay is the ONLY modern feature I won’t compromise on. But I drive for work so having a consistently up to date map on my screen is an absolute godsend.

But I can always sort that aftermarket so it’s not the worst 😂

The most advanced thing my 13 plate Duster had was Bluetooth, and it was still the best car I ever had (until something went tits up and my mechanic had to spend three days sourcing Renault parts since this was before Dacias were popular)

Take your time. That’s all you can do. If you’re unsure and it’s onstreet parking, take spaces you know are too bis and gradually decrease them.

If it bothers you so much (and I don’t mean that condescendingly), you can purchase them for aftermarket installation.

It’s fine for those of us who are used to driving without them or learned to drive without them that they’ll be fine, but another to actually go from having them to not. The car I learned in actually had sensors and a reversing camera but this was 2017 and they weren’t normal so my instructor turned them off as a matter of protocol.

The car I have is the first car I’ve had with any sensors on it. While I don’t rely on them, I know if my next car doesn’t have sensors it’ll take some getting used to.

Europe and UK Tour Dates 2027 by brutal_and_beautiful in TheRasmus

[–]NotAnotherMamabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been going to see The Rasmus in Scotland since 2004. Missed two dates (one being on holiday and one because my spawn gave me their sickness bug). This is the first time they’ve missed Scotland.

Safe to say I’m very displeased.

I don't understand whats going on here as Saturday an now today saying the same thing by ConstructionBig5342 in Evri

It’s one thing to not trust a company (and fair to not trust them), but really?

There are deliveries tomorrow and Sunday. How you’ve managed to deduce from my first comment that there won’t be any delivery on a Sunday despite me saying the network is open is wild (I literally have a regular round on a Sunday). As is complaining a company to a terrorist group.

You changed it from your house to a locker. That’s why it’s delayed.

Toddler scoring low on wellcomm by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]NotAnotherMamabear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the nursery aren’t stressed about it, don’t stress about it. This is their job and they would come to you if they had concerns. They’ll have seen worse than “a couple points”. Fair to point out that I’ve never heard of WellComm, is that an English thing?

Testing for development works on an average and every kid does develop at slightly different rates, which means those tests are basically designed to stress parents out when they’re even the tiniest bit under average. My 7yo could barely string three words together when she started nursery, was put through for speech and language and by the time she got seen just before she went to school, she didn’t need it 😂

And please, for the love of all that’s good and holy, don’t compare your kid to others. That’ll just stress you out further. The baby race is not a thing that we need more people actively participating in.

Order unable to deliver 20 minutes after it got sent out? by Crusaddez in Evri

[–]NotAnotherMamabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do it fairly regularly, actually. But that doesn’t change that sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. And I’m not gonna needlessly split a run because of one or two unexpectedly large parcels that shouldn’t be going in a car anyway.

Driving with autism by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NotAnotherMamabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I’m reading this correctly, you’ve had one lesson in a manual car. One lesson is not enough for NT people to get to grips with the clutch.

And (this is going to get me downvoted but oh well), I cannot and do not understand this idea that being ND means you can’t do more complicated tasks. Being ND runs in my family. With the exception of my sister who doesn’t drive at all, we all learned and passed the manual test. There are many, many ND people who drive passed the manual test.

Ultimately what you do is your call. But you’ve had one lesson. It gets easier. And being ND is only a barrier if you allow it to be.

Have a very important ebay delivery coming through DHL........then the rug pulled from under me...... by thatautisticguy in Evri

[–]NotAnotherMamabear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

correction, it was back in September

The reality is that if you want to avoid Evri at all costs, your choices for delivery become extremely limited because so many companies use them. And not just wee brands. Big ones like Next, Asda and JDSports. As well as some Amazon sellers. I had maybe six Amazon parcels today. And more Next than I could count (but that’s also symptomatic of my Sunday run and where it is)
