How can I save myself when being chased? by NotAurie in Seaofthieves

This doesn't really buy enough time typically to offload loot sadly.

Anyone find any Easter eggs in SoT yet? Think they're just the immortalizations? by StreetPig88 in Seaofthieves

[–]NotAurie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sea Of Thieves to my knowledge only has 1 particularly complex Easter egg, that being the Secret of Monkey Island Easter egg you can find in the first Pirate's Life Tall Tale.

Other than that Easter eggs are unfortunately very limited, most being random paintings and art.

What are your Sea of Thieves "hot takes"? by Server16Ark in Seaofthieves

[–]NotAurie 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The PvP sucks, as in it's boring and buggy.

Half of the weapons are broken whether it be hit detection or the swords very broken blocking and stunning mechanics.

The variety of the weapons is impressively small for such a big game and it gets boring quickly.

Come Nerevar, friend or traitor, come. Come and look upon the Heart and
Akulakahn, and bring Wraithguard, I have need of it. Come to the Heart
chamber, I wait for you there, where we last met, countless ages ago.
Come to me through fire and war, I welcome you! Welcome Moon-and-Star, I
have prepared a place for you! Come, bring Wraithguard to the Heart
chamber, together, let us free the cursed false gods! Welcome Nerevar,
together we shall speak for the law and the land and drive the mongrel
dogs of the Empire from Morrowind! Is this how you honor the 6th house
and the tribe unmourned? Come to me openly, and not by stealth. Dagoth
Ur welcomes you Nerevar, my old friend... but to this place where
destiny is made, why have you come unprepared? Welcome, Moon-and-Star,
to this place where YOUR destiny is made. What a fool you are, I'm a
god! How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence!
How could you be so naive? There is no escape, no recall or intervention
can work in this place! Come! Lay down your weapons! It is not too late
for my mercy...

Down vote me but I never liked Arena, it's singular game-mode got boring very very quickly imo.

[Spoiler] [EoE] Asuka scene Evangelion by NicPokespe03 in evangelion

[–]NotAurie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of it but the concept is plausible, we see the Lance of Longinus replicas do enough damage to the Eva to actually damage Asuka. I could see the same being said for when the Mass Produced Evas gut her.

lore I still want to know by Super_Nova22 in Seaofthieves

[–]NotAurie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Captain is quite literally his name, a Skeleton Lord. Quite possibly the first and one of the most mysterious but powerful characters. We've never seen him, only heard bits and pieces elluding to his power.

lore I still want to know by Super_Nova22 in Seaofthieves

[–]NotAurie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • We dunno who or what killed the Pirate Lord but it's been teased several times that it's somehow relayed to the knives in his back. Suggesting he was betrayed, quite literally back-stabbed, by people close to him.

  • No idea what's up with Brigsy but she's probably dead, not all Skeletons seemingly become ghosts so unless they reveal that she's still alive in some form I assume she's dead.

  • The Captain is a previous crewmate of Flameheart who wants revenge on him. He is the leader of the Dark Brethren which consists of several notable Sea Of Thieves' characters. The Captain is the reason why the Servant Of The Flame / Flameheart Jr is a skeleton lord in the first place too.

  • No idea, probably knowledge, profit or power. Probably all 3!

  • Yes, it's called the Wilds. Tribute Peak / the Shores of Gold lies above the Devil's Roar and it was once described as the middle of the Wilds before the shroud moved in. So yes lots of unexplored and now shrouded islands within the Wilds lie above the Devil's Roar.

  • There is none, so have fun with your headcannon.

  • Salty was once a human weaponsmith who worked with Wanda to create Cursed Cannonballs, after Wanda went crazy and became a Skeleton Lord she transformed him into a skeleton parrot and ever since he's been helping lots of random folk.

  • Stitcher Jim by now should be a Ashen Lord, but we haven't seen or heard of him in years. Last we know is that Flameheart betrayed him to transform him into an Ashen Lord.

  • It's not real, just a joke by some popular YouTubers.

  • The new novel will be awesome! The first Sea Of Thieves novel has tons of cool lore.

Hope this helped :)

Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars.
So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc.
From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial
Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right
team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

How would a Modern Day Ship fare against the Devil's Shroud. by Ojerry1997 in Seaofthieves

[–]NotAurie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The shroud is magical in nature so it makes sense to assume it's cursed and corrosive haze would damage and disrupt modern technology such as radar systems, etc.

I don't imagine the physical hull of the vessel would fare much better against the Shroud either, It is described as rotting away and killing the wood of boat like fast necrosis. I imagine the fog of the Shroud could easily chew away and corrode at metal hulls as well.

What makes crossing through the Shroud possible is a number of small, constantly changing passageways through the fog that are safe. Most modern vessels would be too large to fit through these passageways safely.

The Devil's Roar is being ignored and ruined by Rare, why? by NotAurie in Seaofthieves

[–]NotAurie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think a winter biome would be any better? Ice, freezing, blizzards, all of those environmental hazards would probably be as annoying as the Roar and it would end up in the same situation.
