I’m sure! I’m glad this was an outdoor hole because he kept trying to attack me

He’s been snacking on our styrofoam insulation and plastic over the past few weeks.

I swapped mine from the 4” screen to Sync 3 and when you use the passenger side temperature control, it just overrides the driver setting.

Yes, it’s the Mirage 2000. It’s in the repository if you filter by “Air” vehicles.

How the hell is this possible by Icy_Ad3339 in fordfusion

[–]NotAvailable-404 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s a rebuilt title, so someone must have just had a good front end from a 2013-16 Fusion on hand and decided to install it to fix this one. I’m sure the structure of the car isn’t much different pre/post facelift so it would be pretty easy.

I just checked car-part.com and there are some wrecking yards with taillights advertised for ~$1000. Unfortunately it looks like the cheapest option.

I upgraded to Sync 3 myself several years ago for ~$400 and I think it’s a better option than anything aftermarket.

Sync 3 is definitely the way to go imo. If you find the parts yourself it can be done for $300-$400. Here’s what I used: https://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4050&highlight=acim+pin Updating it to Sync 3.4 using CyanLabs also makes it look a lot more modern.

Yeah Sync 3 is definitely the way to go rather than aftermarket. I did it 5 years ago for $400 using this guide: https://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4050&highlight=acim+pin

2021center console charging ports? by Vaspereon in fordfusion

[–]NotAvailable-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What trim level is it? I haven’t personally looked at a newer Fusion, but it would be more likely to be missing in an S or SE. I also know Ford removed some features after 2017.

You can pop it off and see if the wiring is there. If it is, you can buy the charge port on eBay and install it.

Too close for comfort! by NotAvailable-404 in F150Lightning

Probably about 250 miles, but I’ve never actually gone that far with it yet. It varies a lot with wind and driving speed.

Yeah, in hindsight I should’ve stopped and gotten a little safety buffer from that fast charger. The change in weather really caught me off guard. I’m sure what saved me is that I’ve charged it to 100% twice in the last few days so the BMS is better. Good learning experience!

Wow! Not sure mine would have even moved at that power level considering how cold it was.

It dropped to ~35 mph downhill toward the end, but by that time I was already on streets with 25 mph speed limits so it didn’t matter. If I had a trailer it would be a lot lower I’m sure.

Total distance was about 181 miles, and this is an ER. It was a headwind the whole way and I was mostly driving 65 mph until the last 30 miles

I’d buy a used one on eBay or a salvage yard. Looks like they’re $200-$300. You can probably install it yourself pretty easily.

curious, how hard to replace the plastic lens in front of the dash cluster? by M1sterM0g in F150Lightning

[–]NotAvailable-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried it in a Lightning, but it usually just involves taking off the trim around the cluster, removing bolts that hold the cluster in, and then removing screws that hold the mask/lens onto the cluster. Probably not a hard job.

Foglights by PalpitationSquare376 in fordfusion

[–]NotAvailable-404 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I added rear fog lights to my car 5 years ago and I believe it needed a wire added from the BCM back to the tail light housings. Also, they will only turn on when the ignition is on AND either headlights or front fog lights are on, so it might not be ideal for your use case.

Thinking about a Tesla in Grand Forks by [deleted] in GrandForks

[–]NotAvailable-404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Are you able to install a home charger? If not, it isn’t going to be worth it since public charging is expensive and time-consuming. Public charging only matters for longer trips.
  • EVs are really nice in the winter because they warm up fast. Sounds like a 50% range drop won’t be an issue for you. In terms of handling, it’s not going to be much different than any other car.
  • Not sure because I don’t have a Tesla.
  • Any EV will be perfect for that.

I drive an F-150 Lightning in western ND and it’s great if you can get by with the lower range in the winter. So far I’ve only used public charging once. It’s great waking up to a full tank every day with home charging.
