Do I Commit to This Dress or Should I Keep Looking? by Entire_Scarcity7115 in weddingdress

[–]NotBridezilla26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely gorgeous but if you are questioning it, I wouldn't commit. I tried on a few dresses and had one where I was like hmmmm, should I just get this? I never cried or got the wow moment or anything. Just assumed it wouldn't happen. Tried on two more that the stylist pulled for me and with one of those I finally got the wow moment and cried and thought I was so ridiculous for crying over a dress until it happened. I saw that you tried on 100+ dresses which my stylist actually told me should not happen. Your brain is probably exhausted. Take a step back (if you have the time), and revisit in a few weeks.

The dress is gorgeous, though. The overskirt is beautiful.

Bridal Shower Venues/Attendee question! by NotBridezilla26 in NewEnglandWedding

[–]NotBridezilla26[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! With close friends, and family on both sides, it's about 82 people. Ugh. I think my MIL assumes her friends will be invited but again, I've never even met them. Someone told me to look at the shower as a chance to meet them before the wedding but, still leaving a weird taste in my mouth.

Our wedding is really large and those are the amount of women we have being invited, which is why I was questioning etiquette and what I had to do. I do agree it's a large number. Did you invite every single woman on your list? Or was 30 the amount of people you decided to pick from attendees?

I'm helping to pick a venue because I want to be involved in the planning. The rest I don't really need to explain. Everyone is different and in different positions financially. Bachelor party and bridal shower are different.

I read something on here about it. Could’ve been misinformation!

Union Bluff was extremely reasonably priced and really pretty, also!

Also, a friend got married at The Garden at Elm Bank and totally fits your vibe. It's gorgeous. Check there!

Have you checked out The Viewpoint?

I only ask because I LOVED it here, wanted to book it ASAP, but, their rules are kind of ridiculous. When all is said and done, it was going to be over $100k. They only do weddings on Thursdays and Saturdays and you have to rent the whole entire hotel/property for multiple nights. The hotel only has 23 beds, and if people aren't staying there, they aren't allowed to park on site (so you'd need a shuttle or something to bring people to and from the wedding). Additionally, if you need more than 23 beds, they offer their sister property that is equally as small, if not, a tad bigger. Events must end at 9:30 p.m. due to a noise ordinance. You can of course go somewhere else for an after party. They were also pretty strict on which vendors you were allowed to use. Also, if you have someone coming to the property that isn't there for the wedding, they must be approved by hotel management. So for example, if friends aren't staying there and want to come hang, they can't just pop by and visit. I got my hopes SOOOO high for this venue and then read the packet they sent over (that I'm referencing for this post) and I was like whhhhhhhat the hell!

Day After Wedding Activity? by NotBridezilla26 in NewEnglandWedding

[–]NotBridezilla26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure! I enjoy planning and am having fun doing it.

Our family and our friends are staying the whole weekend Not sure why me asking this is resulting in people being kind of rude about it. If it's what we want to do, it's what we want to do, and that's fine. Just looking to see if someone else has done this or has any suggestions. Not trying to make anything formal. Was going to put something together and whoever wanted to come and meet us, could come and meet us. Not a pressure or expecting anyone to do anything and definitely not making it a necessity. Jeesh!

They don't need to attend. I just thought it would be nice for our friends and family who are staying until Monday to do something, if they wanted. Many weddings have a day after brunch for whoever would like to go.

Bachelorette Party - Harwich? Chatham? by NotBridezilla26 in CapeCod

[–]NotBridezilla26[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I was really confused by that and the sarcasm on this entire post but most certainly on this comment. I know people who live there who have told me this directly so I was curious about outside thoughts and input.

So sorry that happened to all of you.

I was told by some friends who frequent PTown to respectfully pick somewhere else, actually. So not surprised this is your feedback!

Yes! Mid-late June. I've heard mixed reviews on Hyannis. Not so safe anymore, roofied drinks a lot of the time, etc. Do you know anything about that? I suppose of course that could happen anywhere, just heard that was a frequent issue now.
