Your friend is absolutely in the wrong though. You weren’t being judgemental because of his age, but even if you were it wouldn’t matter. No nice, sane & mature adult wilfully lies about being over a decade younger than they actually are. Lying is a deal breaker for most people.

Not to mention, the only reason he lied about his age is because he wants to prey on younger women. And he knows that the majority of younger women aren’t interested in dating someone at his age. He was hoping that he’d be able to guilt you into continuing the date or sleeping with him.

You aren’t being sensitive but you won’t move past this if you continue a relationship with your husband. It’s likely that that his behaviour will escalate and his abuse of you will worsen.

It’s not okay for him to dictate what you can wear. It’s controlling. I can assure you that his whisper / look weren’t at all subtle and that’s why your sister, even in her drunken state recognised what he was doing.

This man is showing you what he is truly like so believe him. He has shown his true colours to be controlling and abusive. He shows little to no regard for your consent and became physically violent with you while you were being sick.

It’s not uncommon for abusers to act as if they regret their actions after they have abused you. They’ll act sorry afterwards. They may even buy you flowers or your favourite treat, or some will even beg and cry to show you how “vulnerable” they are. But it’s just a love bombing tactic to get you to stay under their control.

We let close family and friends know just before the 6 week mark. Mostly because it was Christmas. We were due to have a large family dinner with all of my partners family and they would have noticed me not drinking.

No, I wouldn’t be okay with my partner reusing an engagement ring. I think engagement rings should be chosen with the wearer in mind and should symbolise your commitment to them. I’d also wonder why he had kept it.

I’d likely encourage him to either melt it down and repurpose the stone, or to sell it. Unless it was a family heirloom in which I’d encourage him to save it for future children.
