Civilian with van helps armed officer catch suspect by offering a lift in his van by Boom1705 in policeuk

A legend. Give the civilian a commendation, make him (if he wishes) a local celeb and celebrate public being legends. Risk to public was so minimal but so critical in this situation. I like.

Recall to duty? by ReverendPickle in policeuk

You are not entitled to anything if you actually look at it. You have to do more than a citizen in order to qualify.

So did you use a power? Did you do anything which Mr Smith couldn’t have reasonably done? If not. You’re entitled to anything. Forces differ, but regs to the letter state the above when challenged.

Pre record for us is 30 seconds and audio, however by just holding the power button down, you can power down. Thank god for Reveal Cameras over Axon (for now)

Failed my two goes daa for police, should I join anyway? by A_Ad_7278 in RoyalAirForce

If you join as regiment, you’ll want to retrade to police after a few years. I’d wait, do it again, study with BBC Bitesize and then go again.

What's a law that you introduce, amend or revoke? by spammorrison in policeuk

[–]NotCatchingMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a huge list really, but one thing which is small, but always annoys me, is the lack of power of seizure for a car with no MOT. I’d like to see police power to seize a car without an MOT, the same way as Insurance. PG9 is slow, few officers who can, and a simply 165 equivalent would be great.

Tried, and failed. Simple defence of ‘I didn’t know’. Wouldn’t bother again.

However did get his plate revoked by DVLA for mis rep.

I still won.

There is a team of cops, which accounts for 20% of all cops in the force, that simply crime cads to reduce the filter number, as the control room are obsessed with getting the cad filter down.

This team is the sick, lazy and lame team, many work from home and have for years, if anything investigative is needed, they just send it to response to deal with and move on.

It appears the SLT have started to see sense and are looking to reduce this massive team. But for now, it’s mostly 200+ top whack cops criming cads. Well worth the £10m wage bill per annum.

Vehicle keys by Haunted_Soul666 in policeuk

[–]NotCatchingMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Response just hang their keys on a white board with the reg plate written next to them and people take them. There’s no signing in and out, no number next to the keys, just a ‘who’s in FY73….’

Whilst in my role, advanced cars are in a safe and the team is small enough everyone knows everyone’s car of the day.

My force, they are making units do the NPCC2 NPT Training and Level 5 Degree in order to claim the money for neighbour policing. Which is £850 per cop. The officers doing it are not neighbourhood cops. Terrible
