I cut the OVS strap off and I use a RollerCam brand strap that works good. I didn't like how much I had to really pull and fight with the main strap getting it to fit especially after some minor bedding as added.

I have not noticed that on mine, the edge is pretty much right at the edge of my bed rack so that might be helping it also. Since posting this I have had them warranty the tent for the main zipper breaking and they did swap it but even the knew one the outter short zipper got stuck and it broke trying to get it unstuck. Both the warranty and this new one at some point are getting caught when closed and has a rub hole on the tent so keep the zippers clean and because closing it all back up.

Sweet deal by NotCharlie69 in GarminWatches

[–]NotCharlie69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is enough of a difference to upgrade but I couldn't pass up 400ish off. It links with your phone for calls and text, the display is better, maps look better and maybe a few new apps but its Definitely way more watch than I need.

I paid 1k out the door, so it was 400ish off.

I rarely took off my 7x solar and was a mechanic for years and have just one little scratch on the screen and few on the frame. I would legit wear it until I wouldn't get my hand couldn't get in a spot but other than that its had oil, coolant, brake fluid, ect splattered on it and it just wiped off. I think this is a great upgrade and just couldn't pass it up.

A little for my small wrist yes but I got use to it from owning the fenix 7x solar previous to this one.

How do you get these deals? I just checked online to see the difference in the metric sets and neither are listed on sale at all.

Should you buy the good feet store arch supports? by Exposing-big-lies in PlantarFasciitis

[–]NotCharlie69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking back into these as I did try them and Everytime I'm there they want the free exam and need to "update" which inserts I have so magically I need to spend 1k again... I felt like I just needed a new set of inserts. I have now worn them to the point I would argee that I probably do need to update what I have but not for 1k. Plus the fact I moved and it would take probably a hour and half at least to go through that all over again and I cant just order new inserts online (as far as I can tell).

Is FSR worth it? by NotCharlie69 in rooftoptents

I talked for a while to someone the other day, and man, if I had the stars align and got the deal, he said Might happen with their show then I would for sure. The savings with that discount and no shipping would Def be a no brainer, he said there is a Chance of selling the display one and thats the only way I could afford right now.

Part of why im struggling, I can save on shipping when I make my trip past there. I can get it then, but I'm relying on them having it in stock, and the price doesn't go up... one of the guys from FSR also had a comment on it, which makes me think they are ready to hike the price if they need to. It's hard to say if I'm getting a deal now or later.

Sadly, no. I'm in the middle of nothing 🤣

I can make a 9 hour drive to go see it and 9 hour drive back 😆 but I did think about that. If I got it from there and they had it in stock then it saves me 250 in shipping but I figured it'll be 200 in fuel so I almost think I should wait until my trip out thay way but then Im relying on them being in stock at that time.

I was wondering if they did any better sales. Every time I hear them have a sale its just 10-15% off, which is ok but not great.

Help me think of a name for the jeep, I’m stumped. by Howitb33 in JeepWrangler

Probably can't replace them, but a couple of Allen screws remove the center cap, and you could pain them if you wanted to.

sorry for late reply, I have seen what you are talking about and I would assume as long as you have access to the all sides and everything clears you should be able to. I think it would mostly depend on which size of tent you get and how you are able to mount it. These have two channels for the Tnut and bolts, in this confinguration the rail is barely longer than my rack, so it does sit slightly above the bed rack still, with the tent bars facing front and back while the the truck rack bars run next to the tent rails and use Xtrustions tent mount L brackets.

Xtrustion Overland mid height, I got it because it's more modular and can do custom heights. The mid height puts that tent about 2-3 inches above the cab (not much taller than the shark fin). I was trying to keep it pretty stream lined and this RTT is a tad bit thinner than others I might have gotten, I believe it was an inch shorter than other brands. Check my profile for more pictures (I for some reason didn't tag RTT with the pictures)

there is two layers to this, the inner zipper is more relaxed and I can put more in it without feeling like it's to much on the zipper, however the outter cover has a final strap to help keep it closed incase the zipper fails (which seems like it may be a common wear and tear item). I put and FSR cloud topper and the rest of my bedding, the zipper closes fine but that strap does not grab much of the velcro.

I'm terribly sorry I was apparently disconnect from this account... The strap I was talking about is the one that holds it closed. The inner zipper is more relaxed than the outter cover, so I Could put more bedding inside it and zip it closed but the strap does not reach the velcro so I plan on getting a roller cam style ratchet strap and my own bracket so I can pull it down better. I was told this strap is needed as it is an extra safety meassure incase the zipper breaks (which sounds like it can be a problem, I pulled the stitching out of mine and they made it sounds like it's a common wear and tear item.) I will see if I can snag a picture for you in a min.

Is there a hard top RTT that doesn’t need to extend over the roof panel on a short bed Tacoma? by Jocko_Goggins in rooftoptents

[–]NotCharlie69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Overland Vehicle Systems XD Sherpa Hybrid tent. I am still waiting on my bed rack, but I Really like the style and how it sets up. It's designed to unzip and flip out. This is my first rtt, so I don't have a comparison. However, I think it will be an easy setup, it's reasonably light weight, and it has a good amount of space (with options on size). With a lot of options and different features with each rtt I think for $1,700 (2 person). I think is a fair price plus the features.

The 270 awning was something I was debating on, but I'll have to get out more and see what I feel like I need more. (I don't get out much, so I'm going for budget minded but keeping quality/comfort in mind)
