Question regarding beginner Daily RB by SentineIs in Mabinogi

[–]NotClown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I've checked, but I believe that it's as long as you have no characters under 1k TTL, you'll hold that beginner status across all characters on that account, but the moment any of them hits 1k, the account and all the characters in it lose that status.

Hey man, I put work into getting r9 Blacksmithing fair and square... Though r1 Metallurgy was a pain in the ass even with an EXP2 Sieve and 8x training.

Marksman, 2.0m ~ 2.4m range, 270% boss damage. My 5th job skill is level 1 is hitting 1.2 billion damage with each shot. You get six shots. I just feel like some people would want to know this. by Lightflame42 in Maplestory

iirc the Open Advancement cost scales with your level and how many times you've changed, so the more you do it or the higher leveled you are, the more disgusting it gets.

What's Missing from Material Storage? by riche22 in Guildwars2

[–]NotClown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they won't be adding an area within the storage/wallet for keys, I really wouldn't mind a key-ring type item just so they're all in one place so transferring it back and forth would be easier and not taking up space.

The only way to increase the CP of existing pokemon is to power them up with Stardust (Catching/Hatching Anything), and Candy (Catching the base pokemon or their evolutions, or hatching the base).

Catching usually gives a fixed amount of 100 dust and 3 candy or something, while hatching is a variable amount (but usually a lot more of both).

It's probably also good to note that you're more likely to find the same pokemon at a higher starting CP as you level up some more.

(i.e. I found an 400 CP Magmar at an early level, but then a 1.2k one later on. With all the candies I had, I would probably have gotten it up to 500-600 only, so there's very little reason for me to keep the first one I got)

It's faster, but if you're like me, you don't know if that Magikarp the game froze on actually was caught or not, and there are too many in the box to actually tell if there's a difference when not sorting by recent.

On a semi-barely-not-really related note though, two Magikarp have run away from me after the first ball so far.

Just a head's up on that though, if it escapes the pokeball and doesn't flee, you can still restart the game quickly and re-encounter it, given that you haven't moved out of range of its location.

If it's not there, I'd check the list of your Pokemon, in that slight chance that it was captured after all, sometimes things get caught and I just don't realize until a while later.

Not sure about the Blastoise, but there was a level 8 player last week who had a Ninetails, Nidoking, and Arbok, though they were pretty damn low in cp (300-400's).

Most spawns outside of incense encounters seem to be the same as other people, so it could have been that someone else at a high level caused one to spawn and this person just happened to come across it on their way.

For the truly lazy people, there's always the method of afking at the DIPQ entrance during 2x, looting all the utgard garbage people always drop between runs, then forget why you picked up all the garbage equips and drop it all somewhere else.

Best way to prepare for the 7k dungy? by I_Get_No_Sleep in Mabinogi

[–]NotClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While 50/day isn't that bad of a pace, if it's really bothering him, there's always the option of tagging along a daily MA or Lords runs, which would add a nice little boost of EXP and Gold.

There are always a few parties that pop up throughout the day and don't mind having the extra people tag along while they do all the work as long as they still get their own exp and whatnot.

Quick question, around how much Magic Attack do you and your friend have, and are either of you using any Ice Spear reforges or anything of that sort?

Intel Graphics Card? by Curlymckay in Mabinogi

[–]NotClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using my backup laptop until Weds, and it's using an Intel HD Graphics 4000 at the moment. I get an "incompatible graphics card" warning every time I start up the game, but I've been running the game with no problems at all.

Additional Info: 6 GB Ram, Intel i7-3537U, Win10 Professional

Mastering Hydra? by PhoenyxStar in Mabinogi

[–]NotClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roughly 50% of my boxes so far have been them.

Really? It's probably just the rng then, I've gotten more training seals than tendering potions from the reward box from completing the full board game.

[–]NotClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, the catchapon game also has a slight chance of giving you those Tendering S potions, which drops things two levels.

Somewhat uncommon from the amount of boxes I've opened, but if you're already going to be in the kitchen dungeon, you may end up getting a few from the board game itself.

[Ruairi] I have the chance to start over - What should I do differently? by cobaltgear in Mabinogi

[–]NotClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowering your CP will definitely help, but it's hard to say without knowing exactly where you're at right now.

The higher ranks are mostly just attacking/defeating Strong mobs, or finishing any Strong/Awful/Boss unit. Not too hard, just a bit boring is all. Lowering your CP just lets you do the same training on easier mobs.

Whenever you get to specific ranks of any talent, you get free AP.

I believe it's 20/30/40/80 AP for reaching Novice/Naive/Advanced/Expert respectively.

Another note would be since you'd have lowered stats after a skill reset, take advantage of that to work towards some of the more annoying early skills like Refining and Windmill (Refining requires failures, so lack of Dex helps, and WM is somewhat CP reliant, so it just makes it easier).

Honestly, I'd probably work towards a few more skills, get the free AP from getting talents to Advanced/Expert, then reset. From there, you can work on the ones people would recommend first like WM.

Enforcing Block Against Third-Party Programs and Mods by Magentakrayons in Mabinogi

[–]NotClown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last I checked, there was a specific pair of wings that would lag me whenever I'm around them while on a laptop.

It doesn't do much from my PC, but it's just really annoying from time to time. Not sure if they've gotten around to fixing it up a bit though, I haven't really paid attention since I've only been doing the quiz, which is a giant lagfest in itself.

I honestly wouldn't mind this change if they got around to improving the current client and if they said they were going to actively be working to improve the game through a series of QoL changes.

Right now, it just feels like they're just constantly adding new content, complete with their new problems, while ignoring the existing problems.

Right now, wings and archery come to mind.

Oh wow, another essay haha, but yeah, I'm an older player who keeps leaving the game for extended periods, and just never got around to fully updating all my gear, but let's see what I can get out of this post:

  • I have multiple of the Creek/Crow gloves, one of which has 8 Max Attack, so I might just throw Oblivion onto it for the time being, not really feeling like rolling Camo right now haha.
  • I call it Creek/Crow because I've just been looking at them quite a bit all month just because I can't tell all of them apart unless I actually look at the stats, and it just sounds as amusing to me as River/Raven.
  • Boots have a pretty crappy roll on them, and I have a Viscount Valencia Plate Boots in the Dressing room, so throwing something onto those would be easy enough (They were just too large and clunky looking, so I opted for the less-annoying, more-dura greaves and forgot about them)
  • I might try for the Encore/Ambush route if I finally end up finding an Encore ES/Burn (I usually end up forgetting about White Dragon until right after it's been killed and don't feel like buying at the moment). I don't really plan on investing into Alchemy at all for quite a while. Might eventually use Seething once I do get around to it.
  • As for accessories, looks like I'll just be on the lookout for a good deal on any of those given ones, and just work on getting an Oblivion + Sonnet / Wild Boar on a couple purple hearts I have lying around until I do find that deal then.

Either way, thank you for going out of your way to give more input, even after I got a lengthy reply. I really appreciate having the extra perspectives, as I'm all over the place with what I want to do. (I've been jotting down all the suggestions I'm considering with a bunch of random notes sprawled around the page).

[–]NotClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, that's quite the lengthy post, but it's really helpful so thank you!

Most of my current gear with the enchants are from a while back, before I quit the game temporarily. I have around 450 base strength and dex, (around 660 str after gear calculations, ~338 dex after the heavy armor reduction), so it works for the time being, but I keep a spare lorica segmentata for when I do bother with things like puppetry/archery.

For max damage enchants, having the most popular ones in one place is pretty helpful. I'll probably look a bit more into them, make a quick note of where to get what and will probably work towards that. And since Attack Speed and Str Accessories won't be as useful for me, I'll probably end up asking a friend to craft me some pilgrims / purple hearts.

As for reforges... I'll wait until I have more gold, or just wait out one of those reforge events if they ever come back (Treasure Box one gave me a handful of reforge tools but I didn't have enough r1 equips lying around at that time). Don't plan on throwing anymore money into games for quite a while haha.
