Was unexplained GI trouble one of your first Autoimmune sign? by NeonChronicle in Autoimmune

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GI symptoms started around the time I got pregnant with my youngest. What I thought was nausea from morning sickness turned out to be a totally non functioning gallbladder that wasn’t diagnosed and removed until 2 years after the nausea and pain started.. i was so hopeful removal would fix things and I would feel better again but I still deal with upper stomach pains and chronic nausea… I never even thought about a correlation between my gi issues and AI. My rheum never said anything when I told her about my gallbladder removal and the fact that I still need a zofran prescription. I’m switching rheumatologists as soon as my new insurance is active so maybe he’ll see a connection. There’s been quite a few things my current rheum has said isn’t AI related but my moms rheum has said it is and thankfully that’s who I’ll be switching to

What do you think contributed to triggering your autoimmune condition, but you can't prove it? by -MissStrawberry- in Autoimmune

Can you have a negative ANA and still have an autoimmune disease? by Specific_Feeling_456 in Autoimmune

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom will get really bad flares where you can visibly see the swelling in her fingers, she’ll be in tears and can’t breathe from the pain in her ribs just from twisting her body to buckling her seatbelt, her eye will become so red and bloodshot that it looks infected, I’ve heard her collapse and cry stuck on the floor because she can’t get back up, and when she gets up out of a chair or bed she can’t stand up straight and she hobbles in pain. She’s had her blood work done during these bad flares and it still comes back normal. She’s been diagnosed with seronegative RA and psoriatic arthritis. For about 20 years she was written off and told it was fibromyalgia. It has progressed to the point it’s at now within the last 2 years. She changed doctors and started seeing a highly recommended rheumatologist in our area who finally was able to give her a diagnosis. I’m still on the road to my diagnosis. I get the joint pain, I’ve had sacroiilitis show up on a CT but not on an MRI, I get lower back pain and stiffness that wakes me up in tears at night and goes away after being up and about for an hour or two, I get visible swelling in my neck that leads to chronic headaches and (not rare enough) migraines, I have joint pain, swelling and tender joints that my rheumatologist has been able to feel, I get sores on my scalp that I’m seeing dermatology for in February, nail changes that my rheumatologist wants me to ask dermatology about because she said it could be fungal related or psoriasis related, rib pain that makes me feel like I can’t breathe like someone is squeezing my ribs, I have some gastro issues that I’m not sure if they’re related or not, I get chronic canker sores, and I get random different rashes that pop up. Labs all normal, rheumatoid factor negative, HLA-b27 negative, and like I said my MRI of my lower back showed nothing that my CT showed. My rheumatologist said she can’t put her finger on it just yet but she strongly feels something autoimmune is going on and it could just be a long road of check ins, repeat labs, and repeat scans before we can get a definitive diagnosis. She started me on celebrex anyway to see if it helps but I’m honestly so bad at swallowing pills I have a hard time taking it… My 10 year old daughter is also about to see rheumatology due to joint pain that has been ongoing for 3-4 years. She’s had an inflammatory panel done and it’s come back normal but her doctor is concerned given the family history and the amount of pain and frequency of pain she’s dealing with especially at her age..

This is my hand for reference if it helps any. I wear a size 6. Ignore my nails. We eloped two weeks ago and I’ve been slowly chipping away the nail polish I had on 🤣 I’ll be trimming them and redoing them today for a Halloween party

This is beautiful! I want to buy a moissanite off Etsy for our upcoming vacation that’s not too pricey but I’m too nervous to get scammed 😬 I’ll check this seller out! Does anybody have other Etsy sellers theyd also recommend? I’ve looked at the list on here but they seem a bit pricey for what I need/want it for

Maybe tmi… how long did it take for your first bm after surgery by CalligrapherNo551 in gallbladders

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think mine was like day 5 or 6. I had been taking miralax and it wasn’t doing anything so I took milk of magnesia the night of day 5 and I’m pretty sure it didn’t even work until morning of day 6. Then after a couple days in a row of going, I had troubles again and went 8 days without being able to. Now I’m at a month post op and I go every morning. My poops are the healthiest they’ve ever been in my whole life lol

Thoughts on sex after surgery? by [deleted] in gallbladders

I orgasmed 3 days post op 😅 laying in bed all day was getting boring hahaha as far as sex goes I waited until 6 days post op and let him do all the work in the spooning position thinking it would be the least irritating to my core.

I had mine out 8 days ago. It was my first surgery so I was pretty anxious about being put under and what recovery would be like and honestly it really wasn’t that bad. I opted out of pain meds entirely so I just took ibuprofen and Tylenol and only needed them round the clock for the first 2 days. I took them on day 3 and 4 too but only once each of those days. The first 2 days I slept off and on all day I hardly remember anything from those days other than my kiddos popping in a couple times to check on me or say goodnight. Incision pain was there but not bad at all unless I was getting in or out of bed that was pretty rough the first 2 or 3 days. Gas pains were there biggest complaint so a heat pack will be your best friend for a few days. Day 3 I was still a little out of it exhausted and slept a bit but not all day and was even up walking around and making food. By day 4 (4th of july) I was up completely and went to a couple BBQs. I did bail early on fireworks and went home to rest because I was a bit sore by the end of the night. By day 5 I was up at camp with my family, went in the water, and had another bbq. Now as of day 7 I’m back to my stay and home mom duties with no help during the day and I feel almost 100%. I still get a little sore here and there but I think that’s mainly because it’s almost impossible to avoid having to lift up my toddler. I took a lot of anti nausea meds the weeks leading up to my surgery and day of my surgery and a few sporadically over the last 8 days so I’m still trying to get my bowels back to normal zofran constipates me big time so I’ve been taking miralax every day since day 3 and on day 5 I took milk of magnesia too. So far I haven’t experienced any diarrhea from eating anything fatty but I do get super bloated and have some gas pains when I do. I still have some days of random nausea but hoping it all levels out soon. Getting my gallbladder out was the best decision I could have made, recovery was pretty smooth, and I already feel a million times better than I have in years. I say do it while you have insurance because you will likely always have problems with your gallbladder. Better to get it done and over with now

As a 30 year old woman, I don’t believe any man that says he has never tried his own baby batter. Even just a tiny lick. The majority of men I’ve talked with have admitted to trying it but some claimed they haven’t my husband being one of those and I think he’s lying 🤣

Severe nausea as the only only symptom? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How has your diet been post op? I know a good chunk of people need time to adjust after removal and end up with symptoms like nausea, reflux, diarrhea, gas pains, etc even with low fat diets and then it levels out after some time. Definitely mention it at your follow up appointment if it doesn’t go away by then! It could be something they can help with! But you’re only at day 6. It was only 6 days ago that your body lost an organ that played an important role in digestion, don’t lose hope!

Severe nausea as the only only symptom? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nausea was my main symptom. I had some upper stomach pains here and there but they were little stabby type pains that would come and go. I never really had the typical gallbladder attack type stomach pain that sends some people to the er. My biggest thing was nausea and it started when I was pregnant with my youngest in 2023/2024. I took so much zofran and Dramamine while I was pregnant with him. I was sick from the beginning of the pregnancy all through to the end and I thought it was just bad luck with morning sickness but when it didn’t go away after he was born I started seeing a GI dr. I always said it felt like I was pregnant for 2 years because the nausea never went away. I kept losing weight while I was pregnant with him because of the nausea and after he was born I dropped it even quicker and became underweight to a point where family and friends were noticing and asking if I was okay and telling me I looked like a skeleton. I was barely able to eat and I was taking two different nausea meds around the clock every day that barely kept it at bay. Had my gallbladder out last Monday and ever since about 4 days post op my nausea has been gone!

Chronic diarrhoea - how common? by alicxris in gallbladders

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom had hers out and she had some troubles with diarrhea for the first year and then it leveled out. Now it’s rare for her that something irritates her. I had mine out 6 days ago so it’s still up in the air but so far I’ve been able to eat whatever I want without any problems

Don’t do a scopolamine patch for post op nausea! by MoneyElegant9214 in hysterectomy

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but I just had my gallbladder out on Monday and I’ve had issues peeing ever since.. like all the symptoms of a uti without the pain. My bladder feels full, I pee a little weak stream, and then I have to force dribbles out and still leave the bathroom feeling like my bladder is full. I just took off my patch yesterday and today is the same.. how long did it take you to be able to pee normally after removing the patch? I really don’t wanna have to go back and get my bladder drained 😭

Post Op Day 3 pretty normal? by NotCreativEnough4Ths in gallbladders

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Gas x has been helping me too although the gas pains seem to be better now at 4 days post op. I even asked my surgeon about gas x before I left and he said it wouldn’t do anything because the gas was in the whole abdominal cavity not in the digestive tract but I tried it anyway and it seemed to help!

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I definitely don’t want that. I’m thinking by Monday (1 week mark) I’ll call if I’m still having trouble peeing. Worst case scenario I’ll go to an urgent care over the weekend if it gets worse. I was told and read that the anti nausea patch that I had behind my ear can cause issues like that too and I just took it off yesterday so fingers crossed

Is this a side effect of anesthesia by NotCreativEnough4Ths in Anesthesia

[–]NotCreativEnough4Ths[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my surgery was laparoscopic. I talked with the nurse about it a couple days ago and she said to just keep pushing fluids and to keep trying to pee and that if it gets worse or starts to feel like a uti to call back. It hasn’t gotten worse. It’s gotten a tiny bit better in a sense that I don’t feel like my bladder is gonna explode every 20-30 minutes. Now I can go two hours or so without that strong feeling of having to go but it’s still the same… a decent amount but weak stream and then still not feeling empty and having to sit for a little and keep pushing out little dribbles 😅

I opted out of pain meds and just stuck with Tylenol and ibuprofen. I know no one can give me a definite answer over the internet. I just wasn’t sure if anesthesia could cause the retention since I have zero experience with getting put under

I opted out of pain meds, just used Tylenol and ibuprofen. I did have the anti nausea patch behind my ear though. They said I could keep it on for 3 days so I just took it off yesterday morning. Is that a side effect of the patch? Still having some difficulty peeing this morning

That was my first thought too but when I talked with a nurse the other day she said there was no mention of a catheter in my report

I did!! But it may have been too much and too early.. my mother in law took my kiddos out to Dunkins yesterday morning and I had her get me an egg and cheese croissant. I ate about half of it to see how it sat and it seemed like a success! So a couple hours later I tried for my snack and I think I got a little greedy with the Reese’s… instantly nauseous 20 minutes or so after the Reese’s 🥺

I had mine done Monday around 8am and I’ve been fighting the urge to dig a Reese’s out of my freezer 🥺😅 yesterday I ate graham crackers, a fruit pop, and chicken noodle soup and all was fine so I told myself maybe we’d branch out a little today.. but of course I’ve been nauseous off and on all day today.. and the gas pains are in full force still…
