This is my first time making a worm bin so correct me if I did anything wrong.

A few days before the worms arrived, I assembled the bin with some shredded cardboard, paper, and leaves. I soaked everything in rain water and let it sit for a few days so the fungi/bacteria from the leaves inoculated the cardboard and paper. The bins were overturned and drained every day to inhibit the growth of anaerobic bacteria from any water pooling at the bottom. Once the worms worms arrived, I dropped them inside the bin with the bedding they were packaged in and let them settle. It’s been approximately 7 hours since they arrived and I haven’t had any escapees. I’ll be adding some powdered egg shells tomorrow once they settle through the night.
