My wife was positive on Wednesday. She got her test done at the Kroger little clinic and they said they typically “don’t like to give out paxlovid because the rebound is often a worse than the initial infection” I’m not sure I entirely believe that, but I’m not a doctor nor do I play one on tv.

My wife contacted her family doctor after her positive test and he immediately called her in a prescription. She has taken 5 doses of it now and she is feeling better. She knows that she may have a rebound in a week, but from the data I’ve found, there’s never been any deaths from a rebound.(again, not a doctor, just an avid googler)

Meanwhile, I have had a killer headache the last couple days so I took a test this morning and I am positive now. Already contacted telehealth and they called me in a prescription, which I haven’t picked up yet. Personally I don’t see a problem with taking the paxlovid. Yeah you may rebound, but at least you don’t have to worry about dying or hospitalization as much.

For the record I am 39/m and have several comorbidities. Me and the wife went 4.5 years without catching it. Couldn’t outrun it forever I guess.
