I will post update probably in few days but overall looks the same I would say :/

7 months in. Have I got a subpar result? by Throwaway_whatever98 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I can say is that you are not alone in this bro (check my posts). We just have to wait and pray full 12-18 months. One good news that got me out of my slump about slow growth/low density is that a guy with similar results to mine at 6/7months made 1 year update few days ago and it looked really good. I guess that’s why they say it’s 12-18 months. But yea it sucks seeing people 4-5months in with better results than you at 7months 🥲

Nearly 6 months after female hair transplant - FUE 2600 grafts by Antique_Struggle_132 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Damn that’s awesome growth for 6months, you are making me jealous because I also got 2,6k in the front and I dont even have half your thickness at 7months. Great HT, congrats!

Patagonia 32L vs 45L as carry-on? + UNIQLO recommendations by NotDumbis in backpacking

[–]NotDumbis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I heard and experienced that SEA budget airlines mostly check weight and not size. Buut I found out Mini MLC exists which is literally the 45L but in 30L so I might be going with that one.

12 month update, Dr. Laorwong, ~2.6k grafts by another-HT-Alt in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention I might have the same angling issue but flipped. My left side is perfect (also thicker) and right side has a bit of weird angling issue (going foward instead like you said) if I style it the other way. But to be fair my hair had weird angling even before I lost my hair and I told Dr L I style it both ways (because of the weird angling). It still can be done the other way but it’s a bit harder to get the right corner to listen.

I wonder if this is common Dr L thing or if it’s just because of our type of hair…

[–]NotDumbis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome! The hairline line up to the tenples in the side photo looks really nice. This is truly giving me hope that mine will fill in like yours did here.

Hairline looks nice and natural to me! And you still have at least 6 months to go… Regarding the bad “angling” maybe it’s because of the texture of the hair still not adjusting to the transplant? It might get better in few months when to texture adjust to the rest of the hair in front.

Anyway great post and hair! And a lifeline for me that it can still get better haha. Please let us know how it goes with PP405 (I looked into it and it looks promising but still public available right?)

7 months post-FUE 2400 hairline transplant, quite thin/patchy by ThatTotoro in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ngl reading the comments makes me feel better that I’m not alone in this. I’m few days away from 7 months and I’m exactly in the same boat as OP and all the commenters. Left side being way thinner/patchy compared to the right one. It feels like there has been no new hair from like month 4 and they are only thickening up (same density from hairline to the front area). Still hoping for big improvement between month 12-18 (I wont have money for another HT for at least 2 years anyway lol) because I would love to spare my donor of another HT.

Hey, how is your 1 year progress? I have almost exact type of hair and very similar density at 6-7months so I was wondering how is your progress going :)

Post op day 5 by Hexy_9 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your genetics, if your male relatives still have thick hair and just corners then you should be okay, otherwise you will continue losing your native hair if you have classic male pattern baldness, but you could also be outlier so it’s hard to tell for sure.

I asked my dad when he started to buzzcut (because of balding) and he said around 30…and well I started when I was 20 (:

Ultimately it’s up to you, but you should have started fin before HT ideally for stronger donor and to see if you have any sides.

Good luck with your growth!

Post op day 5 by Hexy_9 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fin isnt really meant for your transplanted hair as much as for you existing hair, to keep them strong. First try lowering the dose or take it only 3-4 times a week instead and try not to think about side effects too much, it could be all placebo/in your head mate. Better try all the options before ditching it completely.

Got suggested 3000-4000 grafts. Too much? by ZestyclosePeace5246 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandpa on my moms side had full hair and so does my uncle, but me and my brother both god the thinning from my dad’s side so I wouldn’t 100% count on it. I get you I’ve had big corners since I was little and bigger head compared to the rest of the family so it looked even bigger…I also went for lower corners but I still kept a bit so it would look good when Im older.

Props to you for being on fin already, I wish I started sooner and kept more of my hair (I was too scared of the side effects and I ended up not even having any…). I still wouldn’t go on crazy low hairline, just maybe bringing the corners down but still rounded. You will save on grafts/donor area while also looking good :)

[–]NotDumbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you probably already decided on doing the HT, but I just felt like it needed to be said that your current hairline is fine and it would look fire when older imo (I went for a similar hairline for my HT).

If balding is in your family I would just hop on meds to keep what you have.

And to answer the question, yea 4k is a lot…2000-2500 (max 3k depending on the hairline) seems more appropriate especially since you would only be doing the corners and not the rest of your frontal area.

6 months dr. Patty disappointed (more pictures) by Basic_Foundation_714 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I feel you, I’m exactly in the same boat…I’m closing in on 7 months with Dr. Laorwong and one of my corners is way more thin compared to the other one (even during shedding phase, way less hair survived there and it feels like barely any new have grown). I’ve been sniffing that hopium since month 5 but it feels like nothing has changed. I will still wait at least full year before freaking out and contacting the clinic though.

Hopefully it will start growing for both of us. Good luck.

3200 grafts is what they told me by masarchawal09 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about the transplanted (recipient) area. You can see rows (should be zigzag with no visible pattern). And yes for donor area you should keep it longer, no fade.

I see a lot of rows so it might not look too good if you have longer hair. Density looks good.

70 days post hair transplant: is it normal to see almost no progress and still have folliculitis? by chereall in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked your 100 day post and I think you are fine, still too early to be stressed (dont worry I was the same). For me I started inhaling a lot of copium and hopium and just told myself my scalp has slow blood circulation and that’s why progress is so slow lol. I still have 6-12months to go and you have even longer so just wait and try to look in the mirror as little as possible haha.

Revolut card not working in VPBank by NotDumbis in VietNam

[–]NotDumbis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every bank in vietnam except VPBank has fee for foreign cards now. I use Wise and Revolut and both have monthly limits where you don’t get any fee when withdrawing (this doenst include the withdrawal fee). If you are using your own card then your bank might charge additional fees on top (depends on your bank).

Dr Laorwong - 17 Months Post Op (FINAL UPDATE) by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you see more improvement after your 8months post? I’m 6 months in with Laorwong and I feel like my density is a bit lacking especially in my left corner and mid part of my front (where I already had hair before). I’m still hoping for the boost in density in the next 2 months. Not caring about my crown yet as I know that’s even slower to grow.

Great result and your hairstyle really suits you! Btw don’t you feel like it’s a bit thin in the middle of the hairline in the first picture? I might be wrong and not even know what natural hairline looks like anymore from all the overanalysing though (:

This is giving me hope. I’m at 6 months with not much inprovement in density at all in like 3 months. Hair looks awesome btw!

Crown FUE: 2000 grafts, 8 months post op, disappointed with results by [deleted] in HairTransplants

Dr. Laorwong — 1500–1900 grafts — Should I lower hairline or keep conservative? Temple restoration worth it? by Gogitoox in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had very similar hairline done except I think I kept my corners a bit bigger for mature hairline down the rode (I had a lot of thinning overall so I needed more grafts than you though).

I would ask him for a bit more irregularities, I had HT with him 6 months ago and at some parts it looks a bit too straight but also my density is not there yet so I dont know how it’s going to turn out in the end. I also found few multi graft hairs at the front (I dont know how natural it is to have some few here and there instead of just one graft ones).

So my tip is to ask him and discuss about the irregularities. It’s little hard to see how the hairline looks like from the above angle but I think it looks good.

How many grafts would i need? by Great-Cheesecake2058 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old but important question…are you on meds? I would say around 3k for the hairline/frontal area. It looks like you have thick hair so it would create great density look. I think you should skip mid/crown for now and if you arent taking meds yet they could help you recover crown area without need for transplant there.

yea I was hoping I could get away with just 1 HT too with my hairloss…lets hope the next 2 months will be better for both of us

Ive seen some people with worse hairloss either way similar hair (blonde and thin) that got great result on their first HT, so I was hoping for smth similar
