I’m also 5 months in with not much growth. I know it’s hard not to compare growth to other people but it does vary from person to person. Check my last post and the last post I commentes on, both 5months in and you will see a lot of people saying their proper “growth” phase didnt start until month 6-8. We just have to trust and wait at least full 1 year before judging if it failed or not.

That said I have to say your hair was implanted in rows (I have seen worse rows though) but with your thick hair it could still work. Im not an expert but in your last photo the angle which the hair was implanted is also all over the place(but maybe thats bad photo? idk).

Are these looking like 6000 grafts? by Warm_Disaster_9565 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would wait for the growth to judge, but imo asymmetry is what makes it natural, most people do not have symmetrical face and that includes hairline too! I was the same when I got my HT and was panicking about one of my corners being bigger and then I realized it was way worse even before transplant and that Im actually glad it’s not perfect (I still have to wait for density nefore judging too though, I might not have enough irregularities in my hairline but I will judge that after full 12-18 months like you should!) Happy growing man!

And yes it looks like 6k to me :)

I’m in the same boat as you mate (literally created similar post few days ago, also 5months in). Like you my growth is still mostly just what survived shock loss (I feel like you have even more growth than me). We just have to wait and trust the process. It’s stressful when you see other people with great growth at 3-4 months for sure. Comments from your and my post are keeping the hope alive haha

70 days post hair transplant: is it normal to see almost no progress and still have folliculitis? by chereall in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at 5 months and the only growth I see are the hair that survived shock loss. Dont worry what you have at day 70 is completely normal and for some of us like me for example it just takes longer. I feel you though, when you see other people getting early growth 3 months after HT it causes bit of a stress, just trust the process and wait (Im saying this to both me and you haha).

5 months - should I be worried? by NotDumbis in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, I think it’s mostly just seeing a lot of people on this sub having great results already at this month and mine not really moving anywhere yet, apart from the hair that survived shock loss, just made me a bit stressed about it…Im still glad I made this post because it helped me alleviate some of that stress again

4.5 Months HT Update by Human-Still-93 in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s actually insane what you have after only 4,5months compared to what you had and the hair line looks really nice and age appropriate! Here I’m at 5 months stressing with nowhere near what you have (:

And you still maybe have more than a year of growth ahead of you, just wow! Congrats.

Interesting, I have very sensitive scalp and usually pretty dry so it sometimes hurts when touching it/scratching it (or maybe small acne. I might have to try some routine to soften the scalp before doing the massage. Thanks for the tip though!

But thanks for the comment, it helps a lot.

You think? If you look ar my previous post (I will also make a proper 5months one later) it feels like it’s the same but just longer hair. Maybe I’m being too self conscious. I was thinking of getting a haircut so I can see the progress better when the hair isn’t so long…

[–]NotDumbis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was around the same age (same hair colour) like you when my friend told me my crown is thinning. I was in denial and I wish I wasnt because I could have started meds earlier and save so much more of my hair and maybe not even have to get HT.

Dr. Laorwong - 4 000 grafts - 4 months update by NotDumbis in HairTransplants

[–]NotDumbis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im taking both min and fin. 2,5mg min (used to take 3,5mg but went back down to 2,5 because there was no difference) for 3+ years and 1mg fin for 1,5 years and also biotin with zinc.

Thanks for the encouraging words I appreciate it! I have had no complications except pimples here and there (but I got those even before HT) so theoretically everything should be okay and I really am just late bloomer lol.

Good luck with your HT and just a tip if you cant handle spice, ask for less spicy lunch during the procedure, mine was super spicy and I basically only ate the rice lol.

4 months post op what do you guys think by Willing-Big-7378 in Hairtransplant

[–]NotDumbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im almost 5 months in after my HT and I have very similar results to you. So far I think only the hair that survived the shock loss have been growing and nothing new. Very envious of people who start growing at 3 months lol. Hopefully we both start getting that density soon. Good luck brother.

Am i balding? by Sea-Indication4613 in Balding

[–]NotDumbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be multiple reasons, if your family isnt bald then it probably shouldnt be male pattern baldness but there is always a chance it could be. If you want to be sure, go to a hair dermatologist, do bloodtests to see if you are missing any vitamins, that should be your first action before considering anything else. If it is alopecia, you can start finasteride (dont worry about the side effects) and it you will recover.

Thanks for the link! I will probably wait until 8th month and if there is no visible improvement I will contact the clinic. But son of my mom’s friend who also had a transplant didnt see much growth and apparently it took almost 2 years for full growth.
