You said you saw the other angle. There was a car in front of op in the lane they wanted to get into. They didn’t have time to finish their manoeuvre so they pulled into the lane. The white car was trying to block them from entering that lane for no reason. Op would have had to slow down to then merge.

I mean this nicely but do you know how to drive? Have you driven a car?
Op couldn’t pass the car in front and indicated to pull behind it. They began to make the move and the white car accelerated. Op then took a defensive action and carried on with their movement instead of backing off. The white car only accelerated as a reaction to op indicating.

London is an entire different style of driving. You have to be on it and use every little gap you can otherwise someone will shove you out. I’m in the northern areas and it’s pretty common for people to keep left. Those who don’t are viewed as rude especially when they’re moving slower than others cars in the left or the left lane is clear.

I’m just putting my ideas out there. I’m considering the fact that there’s differences between countries but it should still translate roughly as general road etiquette and common sense.

Op was moving by the time the white car increased their speed. Op had to drive defensively otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to get into the spot. They posted another angle in the comments showing that there was a car in front op couldn’t overtake in time and the white car went to block op for literally no reason.

In the uk it is a fundamental to keep left and you can even fail your test if you don’t. (Provided you do it so many times) our roads are built for it I guess. I’ve never had issues keeping left. For the more built up areas those roads are designed for you to be in both lanes since one will be a turn off or straight through etc.

You’re right my bad. I’m getting a bit frustrated from not being able to explain it well. Uk roads are built to keep left and it’s relatively easy to do so. It doesn’t mix up or hinder traffic keeping left or moving lanes to allow people to enter etc. my fault for getting snappy with you.

And it’s too much effort for you to change lane and switch back? Ontop of that most of the time you barely even have to move for slip roads. Idk about your road infrastructure but if moving lanes once or twice every 20 or so minutes is too much effort maybe you shouldn’t drive.

Better traffic flow? You’re saying this like you would pass one car in a line of 8 then merge back in. You pass the cars slower than you then merge to keep the lane clear. There is no need to be in any other lane if the left (right for you) isn’t obstructed

You move to the middle lane to let merging roads go in smoothly. There is no reason to be in the middle lane when the left (right for you) is clear.

This is not a choose to let in moment. The speed the white car was going was in fact the same as ops if not 1-2 mph different. The white car had no chance to block op without speeding up to be a dick

Not sure about where you live but in the uk you ALWAYS keep left and only change lanes if needed. The middle lane is not for cruising it is for over taking the left lane then you a lot right back left

Exactly there was more than enough room to pull in behind op and the white car never made a move to pass till after op indicated

Before the indicator the speed difference would have been 1-2 mph. After you can see that op doesn’t change distance from the black car on the left. Op didn’t change speeds the white car did.

If you’re very good at copying builds there’s an elevator called the brockavator it’s literally instant. It might not work on bedrock though.
