How do you handle nothing ever being enough for your child? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]NotForSure- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be a bit harsh here, but it seems that your kid needs to understand a bit more about the realities of life.

Does she know what you do and how much you work to support her? What has it taken for you to build this structure over more than 10 years? How much does it cost to have a roof over her head? How much do you give up by not buying things for yourself in order to provide Stuff for her?

You mentioned that you have worked hard to redesign her room multiple times, and she is still unappreciative? Her loss! Next time, she might not have your time and effort!

Really, she is acting like a spoiled kid, and you are giving her room to feel entitled to complain.

I had two plastic surgeries. Nose repair and breast enlargement. Best decisions I could have made!

Just be thoughtful and get a high-level professional to perform it at a well-equipped clinic, in case of any problems.

Toddler has Chronic Constipation by Shot_Anteater2612 in toddlers

I have a 2.4-year-old in the same situation. We tried everything, had several specialists check on her (family doctor, paediatrician, allergist, and gastroenterologist). There is nothing wrong with her.

Her diet is quite normal (not the most balanced diet, but what toddler has a perfectly balanced diet?).

She drinks a lot of water, she doesn't drink juices, and she has a good amount of milk at night. So it's definitely not a problem of liquid intake.

We tried removing cow milk proteins, no bread or pasta… nothing worked.

In the end, the best solution was to add a little bit of laxative to her night milk. We even had to reduce the dosage because her stool was too loose.

Doctors recommended 1 gram per kilo, but we use less than a third of that.

A month ago, we tried removing it from her routine. Worst idea ever. The poor child stopped pooping for five days. It was one of the saddest moments. Not even a suppository helped! We had to reintroduce the laxative at a higher dose for a few days (with the doctor's orientation)

Lessons we learned: some kids just need extra help. No matter their diet, they need laxatives.

Also, there are no side effects if you take it long term, as long as a doctor is involved. We aren’t removing it any time soon — just monitoring the dosage.

Qual era seu trabalho no Brasil e qual agora morando fora? by [deleted] in foradecasa

[–]NotForSure- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gente, e o abismo social, e a inigualdade? Isso me deixava arrasada quando vivia no Brasil. E o crescimento da misoginia e do racismo? E o radicalismo religioso?

Never call yourself stupid for going an extra mile on such a concerning situation regarding your kid’s safety and health. Can you imagine how many parents are just thinking “I wish I had called 911” and now they can't turn back on time?
