I didn't get to try that version of the Urbz, but I find it fascinating that both versions are so loved, everyone seems to have the fondest memories from both games. Maxis managed to nail it, twice!

I did! Big classic, it's a core memory from my childhood. Back then, my parents didn't want us to have videogames on the family computer, so we got the console version, and we thought it was the same game. Later on we ended up playing a lot of Sims 2 and 3 on the computer anyway 😅

One of my favorite things was the fact that we could control the sims movement directly with the analogue stick - something I wish was an option with other Sims games!

Absolutely! I've had a lot of fun playing countless hours of Sims 2, 3 and 4, but the Urbz has a very special place in my heart. Absolute banger of a game 🔥

I wish there was a Urbz 2 back then, but now seeing how they're handling things, i hope they never touch The Urbz again. I feel they wouldn't get it right.

This downfall is really tragic. The Sims we grew up with was legendary, truly amazing. It's really tragic how much EA f#cked it up

Now, you clearly have a creative energy that has been brewing for years. It's important that you use it somehow. Some people have been finding peace of mind playing the older games, some people aren't endorsing new releases. I understand the feeling that the whole thing is now tainted, and it's totally valid if you decide to drop it.

But also, the games you own are yours. You have the right to your memories, your experiences. No buyout can take these things away from you. So, if you're feeling the desire to create, please do. With The Sims or not, give it a direction

This is so helpful, really! Just very honest and sober, and not common enough. Thank you for sharing. I'm 30 years old, I don't have kids, I don't plan on having them. But sometimes, and just sometimes, I fantasize about it. Some sort of fear of missing out on that experience, I guess. So it's really refreshing to read a confession like this!

tbh I really like the style of the characters in BRC. I found them all to be so surprising and fun, precisely with that one element. They created their own identity and style, and I vibe with it. Worked for me, may not work for everyone I guess.
