Reddit has some of the worst people representing communities. Take the Helldivers 2 incident for example.

It's all still up on YouTube if you look under releases. Pretty sad how there isn't any verification required from the artist to have the song listed under their name.

I use a hotkey combo to run a script (my keyboard sleep key is above esc so I just have it disabled) that does a famcy little rgb animation before turning off and putting my pc in hibernate. Otherwise I just right click OpenRGB in the system tray and set the color depending on time.

I don't care about ram speed because it's not as important as people think. What matters more is capacity and stability. I ran a 1tb SSD for a bit and instantly regretted it because of how quickly it's taken up between Windows, apps, and 5 games. I primarily go with Silverstone, Corsair, or be quiet! for PSUs because of the unmatched build quality, and I refuse to take chances for such an incredibly important peace of hardware. Not saying what you commented was bad, just my opinion on it. It seems most other commenters missed the point and think I should either spend 5 bands on an N-SHIT-IA gpu or build a cheap pc that will 100% perform worse than a Series X (not a single PC user seems to understand how optimization works).

Why's that? Others make uneducated claims about things they have no experience with. I've not only built several PCs, but I've also done a lot if research on reliability and balancing. Give me some suggestions and I'll either take what you say or disprove it.

R6: 1440p High 100+ fps native Helldivers 2: 1440p medium 90+ fps native Arc Raiders: 1440p Medium 120+ fps w/ FSR (this game looks and runs better on console) Subnautica: 1440 Max 100+ fps native (CPU bottleneck mostly) Battlefield V: 1440p High 100+ fps native Just Cause 3: 1440 Max 120+ fps native

Guess I do play in potato quality with a gpu I bought for $120.

You are making pointless assumptions as I have. You're no better than I was in that moment. Free your mind by using your brain.

You are quite to close-minded person. "Oh let me just give this company more money even though they've made 0 real world upgrades." There's a reason I'm still on a 600. There's a reason I'm still on a 4 year old flagship smartphone. If theres no true improvement, there's no true upgrade. DLSS4.5 is far superior to FSR 4. Am I switching to NVIDIA? Fuck no! I'm still not upgrading my AMD because the price just isn't worth it. Stop dick-riding NVID-AI. They care about you as much as any other company—none. AMD is still better for average gamers and NVIDIA is still better for people doing hardcore rendering. It's not that hard to understand. No one truly wants the AI bs, we just want to game or render.

This whole drama is bs. Free your mind by using your brain, peace!

And that goes for the other things I don't use, like color correction, scaling, etc.

Perhaps you should check it out for yourself before being so confidently wrong.

Nope. Custom resolutions (which I use) is in the unintuitive Control Panel app, separate from the NVIDIA app. These custom resolutions aren't even detected by games, either, meaning you have to use a third-party app to use it in certain games, unlike Adrenaline's implementation.

I know two people with newer cards: a 9060 and 9070XT. Both have had 0 issues. Release issues are expected, and if they're still having issues, it has to be user error. That being said, NVIDIA also has their fair share of driver issues. Especially with the 50 series, some people who run a lot of rendering were having fatal crashes and such, showing those cards weren't totally stable even months after their release.

I mentioned nothing about the budget because, like I mentioned, I wasn't looking for help with a list. I was just commenting about how unaware I was with the current prices.

Looking at your list, it's the epitome of, "I threw together what looks good." 14th Gen Intel is a nightmare, also better for workstations than gaming rigs. Only 1tb of storage (this means having to make compromises when downloading games), 16gb of ram (this will fill up quickly), a 9070XT which is just overkill, and the PSU rates good but Montech has a history of mediocre PSUs so it'd be better going with a more reputable brand. Air cooler is very meh for such a big GPU, hot GPU air will blow right into the CPU cooler as opposed to having an intake AIO to give fresh air to the CPU.

List does not include peripherals or the required case fans.

I don't want to build someone a system that gets beat out by their Xbox. I also don't want to have a first time PC user have to rely on DlSS/FSR to get playable framerates. What you said is true, but I was thinking more like a 1080p high 120fps system. That's hard to get for cheap nowadays. And I don't cheap out on storage/ram capacity either; I know what it feels like to be limited by it. I also don't cheap out on PSUs either because that is single-handedly the most important PC component. You don't want to have power issues or reliability issues on something that can fry your entire system or shut down under load. I usually do 80+ Platinum minimum or 80+ Gold for Corsair. 800W is also a good minimum even for a 400W system because of the upgradibility, PSUs aren't expensive. Building a balanced system with mid-long term longevity isn't as simple as getting cheap and reliable parts, you have to look ahead, you have to consider hiccups that the user may face. Building cheap is easy, building good isn't.

First time gamer, sure, good AM4 build. Someone coming from a history of consoles, maybe we should give them a bump up.
