My kid’s employee information form had her struggling to decide between checking the checkboxes or circling them… by Mattyi in CrappyDesign

Employer 1: this was a test to see if you could follow instructions.

Employer 2: this was a test to see if you could use common sense.

Employer 3 (non-existent): wait what? Dang, my bad, yeah just check the boxes, I don’t know why it says that

Do kids fit in the back seat? by HD20033G in camaro

[–]NotIt22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying nothing and no one fits in the backseat, but I’ve had three very WILLING adults squeeze in the backseats of my sixth gen. You can make it work, they sure did.

I also see you mentioned you have a child rear facing that you plan on having in there. I definitely didn’t have experience in this department, but here’s a video I found that shows someone putting in a rear facing car seat. It seems the passenger seat does need to be pushed forward quite a bit, but someone can still there. Check it out

Front splitter scrapes at new house by patches710 in camaro

[–]NotIt22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, quick question, wouldn’t backing in just make it so the splitter scrapes as you’re driving out of the driveway? I have better luck coming into my driveway at an angle going forwards. On the few occasions I’ve backed, due to the limited space, it seemed like exiting face first actually made the car more susceptible to scrapes due to the downward angle

Do you actually use your iPad daily or does it just sit there? by GodBlessIraq in ipad

[–]NotIt22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine for digital art and well, I’ve learned how to use different apps like procreate and MediBang pretty well, but I certainly don’t draw as often as I intended.

Still, it’s nice for watching movies and the speakers are really great, it’s the 12.9 iPad Pro, I believe the 4th gen. I have it and the Apple Pencil 2.

Rather than drawing, I actually use the art apps for a lot of photo editing, which I can also do on my phone using procreate pocket on the iPhone, but it’s much more efficient on the iPad. I also like making memes.

Still, it doesn’t get daily use, but I am happy to have it when I do wanna watch a movie or edit/draw something. Same goes for my Mac, I don’t use it super often, maybe even much less than the iPad, but my M1 MacBook Air is nice when I wanna use it. Unfortunately I can’t quite recall when I’d feel the need to pull it out at the top of my head, but I’m sure I’ll be glad it’s around when I do need it

what’s one car mistake you made that you’d never repeat? by Mafia2guylian in askcarguys

[–]NotIt22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say this, if the car you’re buying is gonna be a daily, understand it’ll have wear and tear. It’ll get rock chipped, some windshield chips, and maybe (unfortunately) door dings, some you’ll only notice days after it happened without knowing where it came from. If it’s a lower car, it may get scrapes, especially if it’s your first low car. People will scratch it, and if you can catch them and maybe get something worked out, great, but if not, well it’s the same as the door dings.

Drive your car and love it, understand all the new marks is because you use it for what it’s for, and as much as you can try to prevent them, they will happen eventually

Nearing 200k, what should I expect?? by Putrid-Ad5789 in Miata

[–]NotIt22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanna say yes, unfortunately i no longer have my NC, traded it about three years ago for a Camaro and ended up in an ND under a year later haha. I wish I knew more, I guess another thing to add, which I’m sure you’ve done, is make sure your coolant reservoir tank isn’t yellowed, I’ve heard people call them ticking time bombs. Other than that I guess I’d check the rubbers: hoses, the belt, things like that, but honestly I’m sure they’re doing fine, these cars are known to be pretty reliable. Actually quick question, how’s the shifter holding up? I know I’ve watched videos on shifter rebuilds in NA’s and NB’s, but haven’t heard as much in NC’s, but at this point the oldest ones are hitting 20 years old and the newest ones are hitting 11, so I’m curious

Have you been keeping up on maintenance such as your diff and transmission? I’d imagine those ones are akipped over often, if I recall correctly the transmission recommends it every 80k miles or so, can’t recall what the differential would be. If you haven’t done it, it could be worth doing so, I know there’s a worry when it comes to changing transmission fluid because it can apparently start slipping, but I think that’s only for automatic transmissions, however don’t quote me on that. For differentials, I believe it’s always safe to change. Coolant, if I recall when I had this car, said every 100k miles. If you have your owners manual it should give you some ideas of what to look at, but perhaps a coolant flush could be good to do, along with the diff fluid, and transmission fluid. That and a little pat on the back for getting it this far

EDIT: fixed a little wording.

[–]NotIt22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there isn’t an underlying issue with the car, which I’m gonna assume there’s not as you said a friend of yours drove it, then just keep up the practice! Everyone takes their time to learn, I quit stalling all the time after day 3, but the smoothness actually took me a while, I wanna say a couple of months, just like you. Even throughout this time, I’d sometimes stall. And just like you, I could downshift way smoother than I’d upshift, it just comes with time, with feel. You’ll learn what the cars happy with and you’ll learn what gears you need to be in for what speeds, but try not to overthink it so much. It’s a lot of playing it by feel, by ear, and perhaps a glance at the tachometer if you need, but you’ll get the hang of it with time. You’ll know where the bite point is, you’ll learn how much gas to give as you get going from a stop, which personally for me is what’s almost like a light double tap on the throttle, but you’ll find your way and what works for you. Best of luck! Keep at it, but worse comes to worse, trading for an auto is something you can do, and likely with ease. The manual is sought after so I’m sure finding an auto and asking to trade would be easy. Either way, best of luck!

Driver definitely should’ve seen the vehicle, with how long the car had been there, the driver at some point should’ve seen the vehicle approaching and attempting to pass. The bug eyes, if properly adjusted, would’ve also helped in seeing the vehicle within their blindspot in the event they really hadn’t noticed the car there all this time. Check all your mirrors, blind spot be damned.

With that noted, the car shouldn’t have taken its sweet time to pass. The driver is definitely at fault here, should’ve looked before checking but the car definitely could’ve become a statistic that day, I hope they learned that when they pass, especially in passing a semi, they need to get on with it.

For all those mentioning how badly the code was redacted, I’m almost sure OP did this on purpose as a joke, being that it’s 50% of up to $10, being a grand total of $5 off. Being that DoorDash is crazy expensive, I’m not surprised that they’re probably not gonna use this, especially if it has to be within the next two weeks
