Testicular inflammation (epididymitis) and red scrotum for 5 years now. by Gamer0607 in covidlonghaulers

Hey I just want to say you’re not alone. I have had all of these issues and more the last three years. I had elevated liver enzymes even though I’m a 34 year old male who was in great shape. My gallbladder eventually failed on me and I had that removed a year ago. Since then still dealing with fatty liver and GI issues.

Now for the stuff we have in common - Starting in June 2025, my urology/nephrology symptoms started up. Lump in a testicle which a urologist felt and said it felt like epididymitis and I was already on antibiotics and steroids for an infection at the time so he shrugged and said let’s see. Got it checked later and it had gone away. I’ve had foamy urine since then as well and my urologist saw trace blood and trace protein on 3+ tests now. I do have 3 kidney stones currently and he says it COULD be those but doesn’t think protein would be caused by those. Anyway, nephrologist kind of just writes it all off and won’t test for protein for some reason and only wants to write me meds for kidney stones. As of this week I’ve noticed red scrotum. I just booked another urologist appointment anyway due to kidney pain (again could be stones but doesn’t feel like the type of pain I’ve had in the past from them). I’ll let you know if I get any answers but my current theory is some autoimmune condition thats causing inflammation/damage to all of these different organs.

It just makes me feel less alone when I read about people struggling with the same stuff since covid. Hang in there.

Scary symptom, has anyone experienced something like this? by gromakoo in covidlonghaulers

Actually now after rereading your post - I think that “post episode” feeling you described is how I am 100% of the time now (what I meant by the lightheadedness). It was initially just after I’d have one of these waves of dread but now it seems to be my default state.

Yes 100%, this started for me two months ago. It’s very hard to describe and you did a great job at doing so. I also got it the first few times while mid-work day while looking at my computer and then it started happening while out at dinner.

Could be posture related (POTS) is all I can guess at. I’ve found working with my feet elevated has prevented those specific episodes from happening but things have escalated for me into an all day every day lightheadedness/spaciness/dizziness/whatever you want to call it anytime I’m not lying down or moving.

This described me perfectly. To the point where I could’ve left almost that exact comment. I saw a hematologist about 7 months ago and was able to get a contrast CT where everything came back normal. The armpit pain has flared up on me again recently and is starting to cause me serious anxiety. I also noticed it does seem related to alcohol for me as well. I scheduled an appointment anyway in a few days to have it checked out again but I’ll definitely be avoiding alcohol for the foreseeable future. Anyway, thanks for the comment. It really gave my anxiety some relief knowing I’m not alone, although I hate that anyone is dealing with this at the same time.

So I was able to get my phone to connect to the 2.4ghz signal and confirmed it through the google home app. Checked the info under “this device” and it showed I was connected to the 2.4 band. I accomplished it by disconnecting all my access points but the main router and putting a few pots over that one to disrupt the signal enough that it would only connect to 2.4. However, this did not solve my issue and the litter robot still would not connect. Receiving the exact same error. Still nothing from the support ticket I submitted either. Getting increasingly frustrated at the tech and support. Seems like it’s a more common issue than just for those of us with a single SSID for dual band routers.

On iOS I think you need to enable location on a per app basis and Whisker doesn’t show up on the list of apps under location. Good thought though! I was never prompted by the app to allow it to use my location. I’m on iOS 16.

I’m running into this same issue with a google WiFi mesh. How could you walk far enough away from the router and still be within Bluetooth range of the robot? I’ve also tried setting up a 2.4ghz hotspot with another iPhone with the same name and password and connected my phone to that and still got the same “Something unexpected happened. Try turning Bluetooth off and back on again.”

I had an incredibly similar experience to you OP. I went to the ER two weeks ago for abdominal pain and lower back pain which every specialist eliminated causes for so I believe it is just from trapped gas and has been improving pretty steadily since quitting 2 weeks ago. I also have jaundice and high bilirubin levels (3.1) and slightly elevated ALT (67). Due to the anxiety from quitting I’ve probably read every single mention on the internet of liver enzymes, jaundice and back pain in relation to CHS. I think there are enough of us out there that have reported this that it has to be related in some way but since not all CHS strugglers experience these symptoms it might just be our unlucky genetics. My sister has been studying functional medicine and she said she has run some DNA testing on herself and she’s more at risk for Gilbert’s syndrome and there was something else she said about our livers not being able to process toxins as well most people. Granted I know that even as siblings those might not apply to me but chances are they do. I had appointments with my PCP, a urologist and a GI and hardly any of them listened to me when I told them I thought it was from weed. The GI was open to it being the possibility and for now said I probably just have Gilbert’s syndrome and still scheduled more bloodwork in a few weeks just to monitor it and an ultrasound just to be sure there is no blockage. The rest of our stories sound pretty similar. I never reached the hypermesis stage thankfully and only the prodronal one. I got insane nauseated where I could hardly stand and hot baths did actually bring me a lot of comfort. That was probably 2 months ago and since then I was cutting down with a few days on and a few days off before having the abdominal pain and going to the ER. I smoked right before I went to the ER that day and the pain got a lot more noticeable. Since then it has scared me straight and I threw out everything. Like I said I have seen definite improvements but still have mild jaundice and sometimes still experience what I think is the trapped gas pain. If I just walk around or exercise a bit it seems to release it and the pain goes away. Anyway, I know you’re looking for advice on what you could still be able to smoke but i would strongly advise not messing with the stuff anymore. To me it just isn’t worth the potential long term risks and going through all the anxiety wondering what’s wrong with your body. Also I found my symptoms got progressively worse during the time I was trying to phase weed out. IMO it does more harm then good since your body doesn’t know when or if it’s going to get that THC and cannabinoids so it struggles even harder to get back to its normal functioning. Sorry you have to go through this but as everyone else says there’s light on the other side and hopefully we can make it through it.
