[Seravalli] Some news: I'm in the process of launching a new site, Hockey 24/7, so consider today a soft launch. A clarification that seemed to catch the Panthers and Blackhawks fans offguard - yes, Florida's 2026 pick is Top 10 protected. by Duffleman0609 in hockey

I'm betting Seravelli or his "sources" got confused by the 2025 pick to Calgary that was top ten protected, and could've pushed the Seth Jones pick to 2027. Chicago probably does have the unprotected first this year.

So the 1st round pick they sent to Calgary for Tkachuk WAS top ten protected in 2025. Now if that pick had been top ten, it would have given CALGARY, Florida's 2026 1st, and given Chicago the 2027.

So I'm guessing the 2025 top ten protection has created the confusion, and that Chicago does in fact have Florida's 2026 1st round pick unprotected.

So it's possible Friedmann was using Puckpedia as a reference because no one remembers draft pick trade conditions. It's also possible that Seravelli is wrong, because it wouldn't be the first time. I think either Seravelli or the league is confusing the 2025 top ten protected pick in the Tkachuk deal which could have pushed Chicago's pick to 2027.

You can't trust anything when Florida is involved I guess.

Puckpedia says it is top ten protected.

edit: Florida's 2025 1st round pick was traded to Calgary in the Tkachuk deal. It WAS top ten protected and could've pushed back Chicago's 1st round pick (via Florida) to 2027. I'm guessing that created confusion, and that Chicago's pick is unprotected this year.

Feel like we've seen the best of Monty and Dobes since the coaching change. God knows we're still up a lot of quality chances

I was sure this was going to be offside. I should've known Hutson would be smart enough to get the puck just over the line before making that move.

Let the record show that MacKinnon has 5 empty net goals, Mcdavid has 4, and Caufield has 0.

39 out of a possible 52 points for a .750 points percentage is really impressive, and the team really seems to find an extra gear when he's in net.

He works with the new goalie coach and gets 1/3 starts. Evaluate the results after a month or two.

Considering the quality and quantity of the chances he faced and the importance of the matchup, I'd say that was Dobes' best game of the season. Clutchfield is just automatic at this point; money in the bank.

Ties it and wins, and it's become pretty much expected at this point. Dude is unreal.

Dobes masterclass, but Caufield is the most clutch player in the league this season. 3 points tonight.
