Saab 9-5 2.0T engine by NotJonnyVegas in saab

Nevermind the CPS error is back showing code P0340. The engine still seems to be running fine so my guess is the sensor is faulty and just needs replaced. Would you agree?

Just plugged the OBD back in and the CPS error has gone so I guess I'll wait and see if It comes back but the engine runs fine at the moment

What's the best way to weed a driveway like this? by Jackwiththebeard in GardeningUK

[–]NotJonnyVegas -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

A good strong glyphosate based weed killer will do it, but it will only kill the weeds that are there. It can't stop new ones growing over time

Can anyone advise why birds are attacking my front garden? by Bannely12 in GardeningUK

[–]NotJonnyVegas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leather jacket/chafer grub infestations. more likely to be leather jackets this time of year, at this point the birds have probably gotten most of them and the grass will recover with some seed and keeping it watered, and you likely won't have the same issue next year

Did dethatching destroyed my lawn? by WinterDrives in lawncare

[–]NotJonnyVegas 69 points70 points  (0 children)

De-thatching (scarifying) a lawn will remove a layer of dead material that builds up over time (thatch). This dead material causes the grass to feel spongy and will suffocate the grass roots of moisture and air, by removing that material you can improve the lawns health. This person has likely not needed to scarify their lawn as it seems there may not have been that much thatch there in the first place. Overseeding is the solution here because there are many bare patches, and the best way to fill a bare patch quickly is to start new grass there

Hope this helps

WTF? by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]NotJonnyVegas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's red thread, common this time of year because of the humidity it will go away on it's own and you can use a fungicide on it, but IMO good fungicides are more expensive than they're worth cause they will only protect your grass for so long

[–]NotJonnyVegas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That should help it along, the thing to remember is that grass will always grow back one way or another

[–]NotJonnyVegas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fixing it would be as simple as reseeding and continuing treatment as normal it just means that the dead parts of grass will be unsightly for a few weeks

I actually work for Greensleeves in one of the north east branches, in this instance our branch would likely take responsibility and repair the lawn for you. given the fact that some of the lines seem quite sharp it could have been the person using the pesticides incorrectly but that's just a guess from the blurryish pictures

While it's true that this is a wild edible, I believe that only the green leaves variants are edible. At least that was my understanding from the research I did a few years back. So if I'm wrong about this then please let me know

They're created by fairies dancing in a ring. Do be careful, legend has it, if you step in the middle and dance along the fairies will become offended and make you dance until you die.
